Best escape room in Sydney! Always have a blast going to break the code and it never fails to disappoint. Went last night and couldn’t help but do another room as soon as we escaped our first one. Highly recommend to anyone who likes a good challenge!
Thanks to rob for being such a legend as well!

We played The DaVinci room a few months back and had a great experience! This time we did Jones’ Adventure which had a fantastic twist we did not expect! One of the best escape rooms we’ve completed! Rob, our game master was awesome at helping us out and made our time there so much fun. We were able to do the Lost room afterwards and that really tested our skills. Looking forward to doing the other rooms very soon!

Went there with a group of friends and it was challenging enough to keep us entertained for the whole time. The room was nicely decorated and was an immersive experience. Staffs were really nice and explained the game clearly with us. Would recommend if you are looking for a challenge. Will definitely go back :)

Did 2 rooms, Da Vinci and Lost. Was not impressed with the quality of puzzles and attention to detail given by our game masters and hosts. To better improve the experience for your customers, can I suggest the following?
Da Vinci
1. Please supply equipment which work and please ensure that the batteries are full. I will not say which equipment to spoil the surprise for others but it was more than 2 items/puzzles were not working. As a minor example, the timer numbers were not appearing properly
2. Please watch what we are doing. We spent a long time on a broken puzzle only to be told to try again numerous times and in the end, it was a faulty puzzle
3. Please replace the keypads. They are so worn out and you can already tell which numbers you are meant to press
4. Please ensure that when codes are cracked, if they open something, that it is clearly visible or audible. As we were unsure whether we solved the puzzle or not (and I believe we did), we were asked to keep doing what we had done already thus wasting our time
5. If numbers are meant to be visible, please make sure they are. When we were asked to look, we could only see that there were hints of numbers that were no longer readable
6. To better improve the experience, it would be great if the game master put some enthusiasm in the introduction
Lost
1. Our walkie talkies did not work from the start, we were stuck, and remained stuck for 50mins or so despite me sitting around and waving at the cameras. The game master eventually noticed, came in, told us we had 10mins left, synced the walkie talkies together, left the room, and after a few minutes, voila, walkie talkies did not work again. And that was the end of the room for us. It would be great if the game masters would monitor the room with more attention to detail. It was a fun experience because of the props, but not because it was an escape room as we did not solve much due to lack of care from our game master.
Overall, the rooms maybe might be fine for kids parties but for adults, I would not recommend doing either of these rooms. If you are looking for a good experience, I would avoid Break the Code altogether. It was a disappointing experience and out of the 30+ rooms I have done in the past, these 2 rooms would definitely be at my bottom :(

Me and my family travel in Australia this few week and we are looking for a place that can relax ourselves. From trip advisor, we found that there was a lot of escape room in Australia. We heard people talk about escape room but we never try it before, so we decided to try one of the escape room in Sydney. And we saw this BreakTheCode appear in trip advisor and it seem like it is new in Australia. We saw the review of this escape room and it looks fun. So we make a booking on their website and have our first try on escape room. When we reach the escape room there, the staff welcome us and treat us well. Because we never play this kind of game before, so we ask the staff to explain more details about the game. The staff was nice and he explained everything important details clearly to us. There was a lot of puzzle and most of them we can't figured out what the password is. After 1 hour, we still stuck in the last room. We thought that the staff will ask we all to get out from the room but he didn't. He stay with us and teach us the way to solve the puzzle in the last room and finally we get out after finished all the puzzle. Before we left the escape room, I noticed that my key wasn't with me. Suddenly, the staff came down and he get the key I missed to me. Thanks to him I able to get my key back otherwise I can't go back to my stay. You guys should try it and I am pretty sure that you all will enjoy it.

Hi all
I've tried out 31 escape rooms across Australia at the time of writing this review, so I think I have a pretty good feel for what makes a good escape room. I've now tried 3 of the rooms at Break the Code Plus and over all, I would rate them as a below average escape room outfit.
My favourite room of theirs is Indiana Jones, which I really enjoyed (but which wasn't without various flaws). Their Mission Stealth room wasn't as good (and they had a technical problem which ruined our experience). I completed their Avatar themed room recently and I found it really unimpressive (clunky and at times ambiguous puzzles, a lack of creativity and no wow factor to speak of). I had brought my work colleagues to this escape room outfit for a team building day and unfortunately, one of our rooms hadn't been reset correctly (they accidentally left a door unlocked, which really confused that team and ultimately ruined their experience). That kind of error really isn't good enough.
Whilst they have a couple of cool high tech puzzles or effects in some of their rooms, their theming, communication system, puzzle design and overall execution are not in the same league as the better escape room outfits in Sydney (such as Paniq Room, Enigma Room, Mission Sydey and ParaPark in my opinion).
Thanks
Scott

Was a little hard to find at first but once we got there, it was very nicely decorated and the staff were very friendly. The escape room itself was very fun to experience and beautifully decorated (Avatar).

Love the variety of challenges, the rooms are designed really well, with sliding walls, door that open, activities that challenge the brain.
Highly recommend it.

One of the best escape room that I've tried in Sydney. There are a range of difficulties to choose (6 rooms in total), each with unique setup. Staffs are friendly and they really make your time comfortable. Hints will be given nicely when requested so no need to get in panic.
Highly recommend the "Lost" room, the whole theme is great and the puzzles are interesting to solve, except one password for a chest doesn't make much sense...

I was very much looking forward to this escape room but the experience overall was just okay and could definitely be improved.
We opted for the outdoor version of Ghost Bomber (goal was to diffuse a bomb), which involved quite an amount of walking through Chinatown and probably wasn't the most ideal option on a busy Friday night. That aside, the first puzzle we had to solve had an incorrect code so we spent almost half an hour standing on a side street trying to figure out the answer. One would expect the staff to have done the necessary checks prior to starting the game.
At the end of the game, we took a group photo and asked if we were able to have a copy each (there were 7 of us). First photo was free but each one after was $3. To be fair the photo would probably cost them much less than that to print, and given that we have already paid $45 per person (which is probably the priciest escape room in Sydney), one could expect to have the photo as souvenir, which really isn't that much to ask for. From the business' perspective, what is the cost of a photo compared to customer satisfaction and retention? The staff declined our request and advised that what we paid for was for the experience during the game. In my opinion, I think customer experience should extend to post game as well, and it's usually the little touches that make or break a business.
Overall, the puzzles lacked a fluid progression to them and missing the intellectual stimulation one would expect from this experience. I have tried other escape rooms such as the Escapism at King St Wharf and it was definitely a lot more fun and challenging. Given the range of escape rooms available in Sydney, Break The Code probably wouldn't be at the top of my list when recommending to others.

Do you allow one stranger to join an incomplete group?

Hi there! We unfortunately don't allow strangers to play with other groups. Each group has the room to themselves and group sizes need to be between 2-8 people. Sorry about that Bruce!

We do have free Wi-Fi at Break the Code. Unfortunately, we do not allow phones in the rooms.
