Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited Market City after Paddy’s Markets. The Timezone upstairs looks fun and there’s a huge range of Asian take away and restaurants. Some of the ‘factory outlets’ were just regular stores and most cater to smaller size people with nothing really above size 14.

Its been a while since I have been to Market City but the renovations here, have made such an improvement.
They have removed the messy and cheap looking food court with all the cheap Asian eateries.
They now have 1909 dining precinct which is an upmarket food court of Asian restaurants (Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese) more in line with an upmarket mall and similar to what I saw in my travels in upmarket Asian Malls.
They still have a nice food court downstairs with the usual franchise chains.
It is now an enjoyable shopping centre to visit.

Market City Shopping Centre is probably good for tourists but I don't know how good it is for locals. We only visited because we just happened to be in the area for unrelated reasons and decided to have a look. Definitely a lot of people around. The place is quite big and there is a wide variety of stuff, but for us not much appealed. Paddy's on the ground floor is much more interesting. At least the Centre is very close to public transport, with tram stops outside and Central train station only a couple of minutes away. Buses are also plentiful.

I´m still in shock after find this place. The place has 4 levels. The Paddy´s market is in the ground level. It is a massive market where you can find whatever you need, from souvenirs to electronics and fresh food, and everything at affordable price. The rest of the levels include food court with many options, outlet stores and entertainment. Really interesting place to visit and do some shopping.

1. The City Market is just above Paddy’s market. We found out only when we were there at the building. The Market City is on the second floor of the building, first floor is The Paddy's Market which opens only from Wednesday to Sunday.
2. It is an outlet discount format, with good bargains in some of the stores. We bought some fashions from Esprit, Giordano at good price.
3. The Paddy's market light rail station is just right in front of the City Market, It goes at the direction of Darling Harbour, the Sydney Fish Market and the other direction it goes to central station. Ticket is a $2.20 per trip.
It is convenient and easy to shop in this market.

Specially for those who would like to buy cheapest souvenirs. E.g. I bought something for 2AUD and in the city the same thing costed 7AUD.

After being to Paddy's Market we went upstairs to get something to eat. We ended up choosing a Gloria Jean's because we didn't feel like Asian food and we got charged for eating in which is weird. Not a lot of variety in the stores on the levels we looked at. I did notice that if you were above a size 16, there weren't many places you could get clothes from. A few outlet type places and I managed to get some Havaianas and Skechers cheap. There's a tavern on the first floor as you come up the escalators. Very easy to travel between each floor.
There is a tram stop out the front if catching public transport and Central Station is a short walk away.

Nice place for lower cost shopping for souvenirs and fashion items. I am glad to come here before my departure from Sydney. It's clean and pretty spacious. Highly recommended.

Opposite Market City Shopping Centre it's the Chinatown Friday Market. Paddy's Market is inside the building.
It's quite a big market selling very similar stuff, winter clothing, decent fashion and bags, tons of souvenirs, foods and there's some stall selling fresh fruits and vegetables.
We went on a Friday at 4ish, most shop on 2nd and 3rd floors were already closed. 1/3 of the shops at L1 were closed too. So be sure to go early.
The souvenirs are really cheap (but it's not of high quality), a good place to bargain too. We heard there have very cheap food court food in the market, but we didn't have the chance to experience since most shops are closed.
I won't suggest coming all the way here, but if you have spare time, why not explore around the close by place too.

Used to be known as Paddy's Market Haymarket but now has three floors of shopping and eating. I love it! Ground floor there are fresh fruit and vegetables, loads of bargain souvenirs as well as everything from gadgets to massages. On the next level there are loads of quality shops with reduced prices. Giordano is a favourite with excellent casual men and women's wear. Bonds, Cotton On, Novo and so many more. Plenty of cheap pop up shops as well. Add to that dozens of fantastic Asian eateries it is a full day out of shopping heaven.
