Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ok, skipping past the bit where the beach isn't that nice, it's possibly the most boring place on the planet. If your idea of fun is hanging out with people armed with annoying children and silly designer dogs, then it's the place for you. Love the worst that suburbia has to offer? Then you'll love it. Want to drink or eat after 8pm on a Friday or Saturday night, then you are out of luck - the whole beachfront shuts around 9-9:30 because the local residents are too boring to venture out later than that. Avoid. Go to Manly instead. It's just depressing.

We ha a superb time here in November. The beach was at its best in this late spring period and prior to sundry disasters engulfing Sydney and Australia in general.. I really love the warm, relaxed vibe here. it may not be as famous as beaches like Bondi or Manly but Dee Why Beach has a solid, understated charm that is all its own.

Go over to Manly on the ferry. Enjoy the trip. Walk over to Manly Beach and paddle to the north end. But then please get the bus to Dee Why Beach. It is very special. BeautifuL. Quiet. Great facilities. Cafés. A treasure.

Dee Why beach is a great spot to spend a leisurely day on.
Whether you walk along the beautiful beach to Long Reef and back or just relax on one of the many cafes along the strip.
Dee Why is also a great surfing beach and has the rockpool for the kids or to do laps.
A must do when in Sydney

I did this walk today even though weather was cloudy & rain, which we eluded, this is a great scenic walk spectacular scenery, can get quite busy so just keep to your right pet friendly on a lead. It was very windy. The boardwalk is amazing you just have to do this walk and get the experience especially with good people, I joined a walking group #TheYesWalkProject it was my first today and I will be joining again on their next walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Come along as well all welcome. x

Dee why beach has a great playground where kids csn play safely. The beach is nice and water is blue and very clean.. what is very nice is that they have blended nature nicely to development. A pool of sea water was created nicely blending well with the scenery and landacape. Indeed relaxing and well planned beach perfect for family bonding.

Visited on a warm Sunday so lots of people around, even so it's a nice spot and it wasn't so crowded to be unpleasent. I can imagine that during the week it would be a great place to pass a few hours, We got there by taking the T1 train to Chatswood and then catching the bus, came back via Manly and the ferry which made a nice round trip.

Great ocean beach to visit and the promenade cafe serves delicious alfresco food and wonderful juices and smoothies. Coffee is on par with the best beach cafe coffees in Australia.

The walk to Long Reef is awesome. The sunsets over the lagoon are worth the walk. Then when you get back to Dee Why there is plenty to eat at the beach front.

This beach gives iconic Bondi a run personally think this beach is better and should be showcased more often. It has it all a park for kids, coastal walks, outdoor pools close to cafes and restaurants. Love this place

Do people BBQ as far along as the Lagoon? I know the lagoon itself has a wildlife refuge. If they did, how far would the nearest public toilets be? Can one wade across the mouth of the lagoon at low tide and go on to the headland walks? Thanks
