We had the most incredible day with Jimmy! He's an incredible guide, chef and genuine person. How he does what he does is a mystery. He wrangled our group of 16 through visiting the Sydney Fish market on the start of their 36 hour Christmas sale, showing us around and sampling fresh oysters before he bought our fresh fish for the day trip. We had an amazing breakfast cooked for us in Brooklyn, with a cool optional beautiful walk up to the area where he served us, we caught views of the harbor and pelicans. Delightful breakfast. Then on to three different wineries! He made us some divine food at the 2nd and 3rd stops, same quality you'd expect at a chef tasting menu all in individual stages. And he does it from a little BBQ from his van. HIGHLY recommend! Bonus we played "Spotto Kangaroo" from the van, saw some while driving and then some in the vineyards hopping along while we arrived at our first winery. Love that he visits and supports small boutique wineries. Great wines, learned a lot, great people and truly divine food. Thank you Jimmy! Do not hesitate to book this trip to the Hunter Valley, you won't be disappointed. We loved every minute!

Jimmy was an incredible host and tour guide, not to mention, chef. The dishes he prepared to pair with the wines we tasted were absolutely delicious. The best oyster I’ve ever had! He went above and beyond in creating a fantastic first day of our Australia trip. 10/10 would recommend booking a trip with him if you’re looking for a day trip to hunter valley.

Jimmy puts on an amazing day- the food is spectacular! There are so many courses perfectly timed and paired with the wine. The pacing of the day is great. Jimmy really has his notes down and nicely spaces his fantastic tour guide points with allowing guests time to chat and enjoy. I did this one as a solo traveler and found it really lovely! A great way to see the Hunter Valley without having a car. Plus we saw kangaroos in the wild! Would go again tomorrow and have shared this with everyone I've met since!

We chose the Gourmet Getaway tour on the advice of our concierge, and boy are we happy we did! It's a small group tour so we didn't feel crowded. Jimmy picked us up directly at our hotel and our first stop was the Sydney Fish Market for supplies/ingredients. It was a great introduction to the fish market and Jimmy gave us pointers on his favorite places (which we put to good use in the following days). Then off to the wineries. We first made a a quick stop at a picnic area where Jimmy served us a delicious breakfast. At the wineries Jimmy made and treated us to food pairings with our wines. Just a lovely day made all the more enjoyable by Jimmy's company and commentary. Highly recommended!

When we travel, we always try to find food & wine tours that are unique to the area. We have done tours in New York, London, Barcelona, Lisbon, etc. While planning a visit to Sydney, we found Gourmet Getaway Tours. not only did it exceed expectations, it is likely the best food/wine tour we have ever taken. Chef Jimmy does a wonderful job of combining food, wine, history and culture. From the visit to Sydney Fish Market, delicious food, boutique wineries, and kangaroo spotting it was a fabulous day. Don't miss it - just book it!

Very limited time visiting Australia before cruise and this tour was the highlight. Exceptional food paired with visits to 3 wonderful wineries. Jimmy is a great host and fantastic chef. It was a great way to spend Valentine's Day.

Jimmy is an incredible tour guide and chef. Book this tour if you have the opportunity. We have done many wine tours around the world but none were like this. Having the food pairings enhanced the whole experience.

Jimmy provided the best experience you can imagine. He is an excellent, knowledgeable, and entertaining tour guide. His food and wine pairings showed his vast knowledge and the food was very well prepared and absolutely delicious. The wineries he took us to were all winners with very courteous and knowledgeable hosts. Jimmy certainly has 11 new fans. We would be delighted to take another tour with him. We would all give him five stars plus plus two thumbs up.

My husband and I received a birthday voucher for this experience from our children, and it was certainly money well spent. Jimmy the owner from start to finish produced a magical day for us all, from an insight into the functionality of the fish markets and breakfast in Brooklyn, to preparing gourmet dishes to pair with the lovely wines at each winery visited in the Hunter Valley. We would certainly recommend this tour to everyone and hope to have the opportunity to experience it again in the near future.

A brilliant day! We loved making our own sushi with the fresh ingredients from the fish market. All day, Jimmy provided outstanding dishes to complement the very enjoyable wines we tasted at three boutique wineries. Jimmy was super-organised and had thought of every detail. Although we went out on one of the wettest days on record, this really didn't affect our enjoyment. Thank you so much Jimmy.

Hi,
Unfortunately Our vehicles are not fitted with child restraints as legally required for children under 4 years old. I would recommend you try a larger coach company as the laws are more lenient for bigger passenger vehicles.

Thanks for the inquiry. I will look into why the message wouldn’t send and have it fixed immediately.
As for our exciting new Blue Mountains Tour we have two vehicles. A Mercedes Viano which very comfortably seats 6 and a Toyota Coaster which was designed for 20 however we limit to 14 guests.
Hope this is of some help and hope to see you soon on one of our foodie adventures.

Not a silly question. I do have people bringing their children on board and I do have non alcohol drinks for them and they end up having a lovely day in the countryside.
My Tours depart Monday Wednesday and Saturday’s.

My question is, my Fiancé has Celiac Disease (gluten intolerant) and cross contamination is a concern, are you able to accommodate her on a group tour, or only on a private, or neither?

Thanks for your inquiry, at present the tour only runs Monday Wednesday and Saturday's. Unfortunately 15 and 16 Feb I don't have a departure . If I get other inquiries for those days that may change and I will be sure to let you know.

Thanks for your inquiry. I am currently on my annual Holliday's and therefore not running and tours for all of July. My regular tours ( Monday, Wednesday and Saturday) recommence on the 1st of August. Hopefully you are available to come on a tour at that time.

Thanks for your inquiry about my tours, I would love to have you on one. They are a full day beginning at Sydney City Hotels around 7am and returning to Sydney approximately 5.30pm.
I run my regular Gourmet Food And Wine Hunter Valley Tours Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays at a cost of $165 for Adults $155 Concession. This is all inclusive, no more to pay unless you purchase wine or local produce to bring back to Sydney. I can also do private charters on these or other days subject to availability. Other options could include a visit to The Reptile Park, Hunter Valley Gardens, Golf Courses, Breweries, Blue Mountains ETC.
My tours are about making new friends, sampling great wine paired with delicious food in and among amazing scenery.
I hope this answers your question and hope to show you a fantastic time in the near future.
