We enjoyed an excellent Hunter Valley wine and food tour with Jimmy, our tour guide, driver and very accomplished chef. It started with an 0630 pick up from our hotel, followed by others which meant we reached the first stop, Sydney fish market, around 0725. Jimmy explained how it worked and then went off to source some very fresh seafood that we would consume later. Many of us used the opportunity to stock up on some nice coffee as Jimmy’s van doesn’t (yet) have a coffee as part of his innovative cooking set up. 50 minutes later it was time for a brief walk around a lake whilst Jimmy cooked breakfast for us before teaching us how to roll sushi, which we would eat later at one of the wineries. It’s then an hour or so to the Hunter Valley where we visited three small boutique wineries, many of which you cannot buy on the High street. Jimmy provides an excellent meal - fresh oyster, asparagus with Parmesan and truffle oil, waygu beef sliders, crème brûlée blowtorched in front of us. Then it’s a two hour drive back to Sydney - a long day but very worth it. Jimmy provides an informative but unintrusive commentary on Sydney, wildlife etc on the way. A very enjoyable day and would recommend it.

Jimmy did a great job in his 12-seater minibus. The stop for breakfast at Brooklyn was a great was to see some bush and views over Hawkesbury. The 3 wineries chosen for tasting were terrific. Met some lovely people too!

A great and fantastic day with Chef Jimmy. The mini coach was comfortable for the trip. First stop at seafood market to buy our ingredients and had our breakfast at a park. Generous wine tastings and food pairing prepared by Jimmy. We are a family of 3 with an underage girl whom is ok to join without wine tasting. Highly recommended. Cheers 🍻

An excellent day trip from Sydney. Jimmy is a great host and chef. We enjoyed breakfast in the park, sushi making, winery visits and gourmet food. Generous wine tastings at three Hunter Valley wineries, with food pairings by chef Jimmy.

A full day trip from Sydney, definitely worthwhile for locals and visitors.

This was a fantastic tour. The food was excellent, activities interesting, and Jimmy (tour operator) was the so informative and accommodating.
Favorite experience was the visit to freshwater surf club where we got see some of the various techniques involved in surf lifesaving over the years. This was followed by an absolutely delicious lunch of Australian cuisine cooked by Jimmy.
It was a full day, good money's worth. Would highly recommend for foodies

This tour was my favorite extra in Sydney. It's an all-day (12 hour) excursion. The chef/tour guide, Jimmy, picked us up at our hotel in a very nice air-conditioned mini-bus. After everyone was aboard (about 13 -people), we all headed to the Sydney Fish Market. Jimmy informed us about what happens at the fish market (the third largest in the world!) then left us to explore on our own for about 15 minutes so that he could buy fresh seafood for our meals. (if you don't eat fish, if you let him know when you sign up, he will have alternatives for you.)
At our first stop , about 1/2 hr. down the road, he fixed us breakfast at a local park. We saw magpies and wild turkeys roaming near us as he cooked and we ate.
The wineries were in the Hunter Valley Wine region, a 1 1/2 hr drive away, but Jimmy told us interesting items about the places we were passing. All three wineries were within a five minute drive of each other. At the first winery we were excited to see many grey kangaroos relaxing in the shade because of the heat. The wines we sampled (about 7) were varied and I liked all of them. At the second winery we sampled more great wines and Jimmy provided us with food that he had prepared to pair with the wine. At the third winery, we sat at beautifully appointed tables to sample more delicious wine and Jimmy prepared foods on site to go with our samples. The creme brulee for dessert was the best I've ever eaten!
At all the stops we had time to buy some of the wines we had sampled, or time to explore the tasting room and grounds. The trip back (about 2 hours) was quiet as we all relaxed from the effects of the great wines and great food! This trip was well worth the time and money. The wines were reasonably priced. I highly recommend this getaway!

Every single dish prepared by our chef/guide Jimmy was so yummy!!! We had fresh oyster from Sydney fish market with finger lime, asparagus in truffle infused olive oil, wagyu on toast with beetroot and cheese, and much more... A lot of these need tedious preparation by the chef the day before our trip, and it definitely takes lots of effort. By pairing yummy food with awesome wine just made this trip even better! Thanks Jimmy for the wonderful experience!

This was an incredible experience equal to an all day tasting menu with the pairing of wine. The chef/guide is very pleasant. It started by a visit to the fish market to get fresh produce. We had a lesson on how to make sushi rolls. The prepared food was excellent. Strongly suggest you try this.
