Boat never showed. Whole schedule changed with no notice.
Dec. 2017
We arrived at 9:10am to catch a 9:25 ferry to the zoo. We purchased tickets online, and we went to the desk to get printed tickets. There was much confusion over which boat to board. Two different companies are using the same wharf. The other company makes announcements every 5 minutes. This company has made none. So all tourists going to Taronga Zoo are confused as the other company keeps mentioning that Zoo patrons should board at this gate... but it’s not for Eco Hopper. The computer screen showed the 9:25 boat as boarding when the boat wasn’t even at the wharf, causing additional confusion. By 9:30, the ride had disappeared from the screen as if it had already left. However, the boat never arrived in the first place. No staff from Eco Hopper on the wharf to explain anything. By 9:35, my blood is boiling as my 3 kids are asking repeatedly why we aren’t on a boat. Finally at nearly 9:40, Eco Hopper came on the PA system to announce the 9:25 boat was delayed and that we would have to wait for the 9:55 boat instead. Meanwhile, the Hop on Hop off company successfully got TWO ferries off to the zoo in the time it is taking for the Eco Hopper boat to even show up for boarding once. What is most irritating about this is the complete lack of communication by the company. The woman who is supposed to be down here at the wharf to answer questions for customers is in the staff office. She just pokes her head out the side door every few minutes to confirm the lack of a boat. She finally came out at 9:50 to inform us all that the service to Manly (part of our planned trip) is canceled today. So we bought tickets so we could go to Manly from Taronga Zoo. Now they want us to go out to the zoo, return to the starting point and take a different boat back to Manly. This information was given to us 30 minutes after we were supposed to have departed. Completely unprofessional. We clearly chose the wrong company. We have a tight schedule for our day today, and now our whole planned schedule for today is blown. Again, the biggest issue I have with this is the total lack of timely communication. Infuriating.

Ecohopper don’t always stop at Manly Quarantine station
Oct. 2018 • Solo
I relied on the ecohopper online timetable but it didn’t turn up at the Q station. Had to wait 45 minutes. The sign says to wave to ferry down which I did twice but it just skipped it. Be wary.

after a disappointing experience with the company two doors down, it was a welcoming relief to be greeted by a big, warm, and friendly smile by Jeff, who was most helpful, and courteous.Jeff was highly engaged with us as customers, he gave us great advice and provided us with options that made our cruise experience one of the best that we have ever had.Thank you, Jeff, for going above an beyond and making our experience a pleasant one.

Harbour highlights
Jul. 2017 • Family
Did a day-trip on Sydney Harbour on the Eco Hopper with family visiting from the USA and we were able to see all the highlights in the harbour in a day. We especially enjoyed walking up to The Gap from Watson's Bay and having lunch at Manly. This is a great way to experience this beautiful harbour with flexibility and value-for-money!

Whale watching, Taronga Zoo , 5 Attractions & Ferry Pass
Jun. 2017 • Solo
Jeff over @ Eco Hopper gave my sister and I a seriously good deal on whale watching, Taronga Zoo , top 5 Sydney Attractions and a 5 day ferry pass! He's really is the friendliest person in terms of explaining what's available and gave good suggestions in terms of when is the best time to go whale watching. We saw 2 whales on our trip out to the ocean!

If you're ever in Darling Harbour and are looking for a great deal, go over to Jeff on Eco Hopper, he sure would hook you up!

A great way to see Sydney Harbour
Apr. 2017 • Family
We bought the ecohopper and Taronga Zoo entry ticket. The staff were helpful and friendly and the boats were a great way to see the harbour. The boats aren't as frequent as the ferry, but it wasn't too long a wait.

Good Deals, but CONFUSING timetable and service
Mar. 2017 • Friends
There is a VERY GOOD chance of missing your boat, because there are SO MANY companies offering the Eco Hopper, and so you need to be very careful of which company you had brought ferry tickets from.
The timing timetable is also confusing to understand and would take some getting used to figure out.
That being said, it is still value for money if you like to hop to various wharfs.

Wasted time & money
Mar. 2017 • Couples
I'd put more blame on the incompetence of the woman who sold us the ticket than on the Ferry service because her explanation was very misleading, but communication on the ferry service was also appalling. The ferry service is very limited, especially during the week so we found ourselves stranded in circular quay at 5 pm on the first day and had to walk back to Darling Harbour.
On our second day the ferry didn't stop at Q Station as planned. Apparently there was an announcement over the loud speaker telling people to make it known that they wanted to stop, however we were upstairs and couldn't hear the announcement.
We also got stranded at Watson's Bay for hours because we thought we were standing in line to board the ferry only to watch it depart without us. Apparently the rest of the line were waiting for another ferry, but seeing as how poorly sign posted it is we didn't realise this. This meant we ran out of time to go to Q Station.
It ended up being a very expensive and disappointing exercise for us.
Maybe it would be worth doing on a weekend when there are more services but for us it was a frustrating waste of time & money.

Poor condition of ferry, terrible customer service
Feb. 2017 • Friends
Decided to write this review as I felt what we got was nothing like what was advertised. Went on the 2 hr ecohopper sightseeing tour whilst 2 weeks ago. Brochure claimed "brand new + open top deck boats" - the ferry we got was old and dirty, with multiple torn/broken seats, and windows that couldn't be opened as the handles were broken/missing. The front windows were also broken and held together with duct tape, driver had to prop it open with a large plastic bottle. Tour was like a regular ferry with stops where we had to wait for ppl to get on and off, only with pre-recorded info, ferry was so loud it was barely audible.
We got on at Circular Quay and the ferry broke down halfway at Manly. We were told they were going to fix it but couldn't guarantee how long we would have to wait. Only other option was to take the next ferry straight back to Circular Quay (no stops). We approached the Ecohopper stand to ask if we could do a partial refund/reimbursement for half the trip - we were told no, and indifferently that we could take the next ferry back (worth $8.50) which would "work out the same" (we paid $30 for the 2 hr tour). That would also mean we would miss out on Darling Harbour.
Tried contacting the company via email (and sent them photos of the condition of their ferry) and website feedback but received no reply whatsoever. Very disappointed, ripped off, unimpressed with the lack of customer service and disgusted with the quality of the ferry - did not get what we paid for at all.

Easy and fun way to get to Taronga Zoo!
Dec. 2016 • Friends
Travelled on board the Eco Hopper when I went to Taronga Zoo. Was simple to purchase tickets from Circular Quay (packaged with zoo tickets) and was easy to board.

Was a little confusing waiting to depart Taronga Zoo as there a multiple ferries that use the same wharf - make sure you listen carefully to the guy who opens the gates.

The ferries seem clean, and there is plenty of seating. If you get the chance to stand on the sides of the boat I would recommend, you get a great view and really feel the wind in your hair :P

I would like to do this again as as a sightseeing experience, and see all 10 harbour destinations. I imagine you would get a great view around Sydney Harbour.
