About
Glebe is Sydney's most popular an inner city market. It is vibrant, alternative, bohemian and laid back. One minute you are looking at rare gems and crystals and jewellery and the next a group of people start a wild drumming beat. It’s cool and chaotic in a beautiful way! Glebe markets is the ideal place to find that cool, vintage or retro item. A brilliant place for the up-cycled, and reworked. Glebe has a cool vibe with a diverse style making it a great day out. Enjoy exotic food from all over the world Indian, Chinese dumplings or even freshly squeezed cane juice while you listen to the free music on the lawn.

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.

Pleasant

Plenty of stalls set up for a stroll on a beautiful Autumn day. Many more clothing stalls than other varieties.

Bohemian hippy market
Feb. 2020 • Couples
Lovely market, pretty busy though so leave plenty of time to negotiate. Lots of vintage clothing mixed with new, handmade jewellery, usual soaps etc. great book and record stall tucked away in a corner which kept the husband busy. We stopped for some average food, (other stalls looked better in hindsight,) good coffee/tea though listening to some excellent live music from “goldheist”. All in all, well worth the visit, very pleasant morning.

Easy Saturday lunchtime
Feb. 2020 • Couples
Very Bohemian market with a lot going on. Stall holders all very friendly. Spent two hours which was enough and then sat listening to one of the musicians play as we drank coffee. Well worth a visit if you are looking for something different in clothing, personally the second hand records kept me entertained.

Average market.... primarily clothes
Feb. 2020 • Couples
I enjoy outdoor markets and have been to many and I found this one to be average. Although there was some food, jewelry and gift items the market was primarily dominated by clothes. It didn’t take me long to walk through it. The food vendor offerings looked good but we had just ate breakfast.

Blows my mind what people complain about examples below ! This market is a gorgeous local market that supports local produce and cute vintage stores :). The kids playground and open area is so lovely and the glebe community really come together here to enjoy live music and fun vibes under the trees :)

I always find a silk dress kimonos vintage eclectic and designer things that are so much less than in the stores.

Don’t make judgements about a mobile phone in a strangers hand and throw people off one of SYDNEYs most lovely market experiences ! Xxxx

First time at these markets
Jan. 2020 • Family
Not really a market to take young kids too. Unfortunately some adults here don't really look where they are going (looking at their phones) Some good stalls but alot seem to have the same products. I love second hand stalls but the ones here are not that exciting unfortunately. We did get some good tee shirts and the lemonade was good.

Thanks for your review. Yes it is a crowded place. There is a children's play ground behind the food stalls. I am not sure if you managed to find it.

Saturday average market in Glebe
Dec. 2019 • Couples
This is a Saturday market with a variety of things to buy. There are also food stalls.

I have been to many similar markets around the world, so I wasn’t very impressed with it. I was hoping to find some antiques or more interesting and vintage things.

Interesting place and good buys, though still pricey at times
Dec. 2019
If you like branded stuff, this might be the place to come. Polo Ralph Lauren jackets going for $50 (though I still feel it is expensive).
Crowded.... very crowded, so it is very much advised NOT to drive, as you will giving way to pedestrians all the time. One one lane both ways.
Just a 20min walk from Central Station.
Not a bad place, worth a visit.

Great markets with a wide range of goods to selection from ranging from clothing to personal goods and memorabilia. There are plenty of food stalls and stall holders are happy to haggle. Very affordable and highly recommended.
