- Paul EBangkok, Thailand4 contributionsNaked Enjoyment and Beautiful ViewsAs one of Sydney’s 3 legal nudist beaches, Lady Bay in my opinion has the most stunning views. I arrived at high tide when there was no sand so settled on one of the rock ledges until the tide receded to reveal a lovely beach. Some of the rocks are slippery so a little care is needed. I found a mixture of men and women on the beach and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The water was clear and inviting. As others have written, the beach is very visible from the public walkways and lookout platforms above the beach so many tourists do stop and watch the nudists. Many take photos and videos but from quite a distance so I wasn’t bothered. I thoroughly recommend adding a trip to Lady Jane to your next Sydney outing. I’ll definitely be back.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 19 November 2023
- Craig SLoftus, Australia8 contributionsIf only it was closer to my house. My fave nudie beach. During high summer, there is every shape and size, aged eighteen to eighty. This would be my recommended beach for females for sure. It does get crowded though. If you catch the train to Circular Quay, then the ferry from dock 5, you’ll have a great day. Driving - good luck. Parking sucks. There is a nearby bus stop if that’s your lifestyle choice. Then walk to Camp Cove and straight up the stairs to your right. It’s a short, shade less walk to the stairs, then down you go. There are no facilities on the beach itself, but there are bins and (yukky), toilets up the top. There is also a small shop at Camp Cove beach and Watsons Bay is nearby. I’m sure others have mentioned the ice cream boat that pulls up regularly. You can also do some freestyle swimming while you’re there.Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 14 March 2024
- Sarah WSydney, Australia1 contributionAwesome nude beach with great view of SydneyI don't understand the bad reviews of this beach. Sure some days there are better than others, but usually its a good crowd. In summer it's almost 50/50 male/female, especially in the afternoons. And what's lovely is that you meet lots of tourists who take their first skinny dip ever at Lady Bay. I've met people from the US, Brazil, France, Italy, Greece, China, Taiwan, Singapore and many other places. So just go with the flow and enjoy. You won't regret it.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 16 June 2024

Went early in the morning being one of the firsts on the beach. High tide day so there was very little sand available for lounging so we retreated to the rocks. It was a gorgeous sunny day with the water feeling refreshing. We left close to noon just as more people started showing up. Will go again if I ever have the opportunity to return to Australia.

We walked past this beach on the way to the Hornby lighthouse and headland when we spent a day at Watson Bay.
I feel obliged to warn those with children especially that this is NOT just a nudist beach - it appeared to be exclusively MALE nudists there and - even though we stood on the nature trail, some 50 yds or more and above the beach - we could not fail to notice that several of the male nudists were not just lying in the sun on the rocks and sand.
I was shocked to see these clearly stroking their erect members if not blatant masturbating openly, without any attempt to cover up or shield others - on the beach or like us on the footpath above - from their exhibitionist self-abuse.
Be very careful if you have children, elderly folk or those of a nervous disposition and easily shocked!

Shame on you Sydney! With hundreds of miles of fantastic coastline, this is the only legal nude beach you can tolerate??!!
I went for one reason - it was my only opportunity during a month's visit to Australia to visit a nude beach. So, on that very basic level, mission accomplished.
But why else, other than the magnificent harbor views - which you can get more easily at many other locations - would you want to come here?
It goes without saying there are no facilities - bring everything you need, especially water, a towel, and sun block. Given the small space, umbrellas aren't practical, and would probably be frowned upon.
I arrived near high tide - at that point, half the "beach" is nothing but rocks; none of it is more than 20-25 feet wide. And depending on time of day, much may be in shade - which could be an advantage in Australia's intense sun, but for many beachgoers would be a distinct disadvantage.
Because it's so small, you may not find many people there. I didn't. When I went on a gorgeous weekend afternoon, \ during my stay, I noted - one nude couple, two young men in tight swim boxers, and about 15-20 nude men - mostly on the north side of 50, and most of whom apparently;y came solo. While I was there, we were visited by four clothed groups of four - two groups of young Asian men, one mixed family group, and four young women who wore swim suits. I can only assume that most of the latter came for some sort of thrill factor. Bottom line - if you do choose to go, be prepared for a gawk factor.
Also be prepared for onlookers from the poorly shielded cliff above to stop and take in the sights. Some will stare, and at least one mature woman took my picture - then took about a dozen steps to get a better angle and took a second pic - I felt like waving. Definitely not a place for a timid or first time nudist. Sadly, a beach such as this could set legal nudity back 20 or 30 years.

Lady Bay, or sometimes Lady Jane Beach, is one of Sydney's popular legal nude beaches. It is situated on the south head entrance to Sydney Harbour in the suburb of Watson's Bay.
The beach is a short walk from Camp Cove a safe family beach which itself is a short walk from Watsons Bay Wharf. Watsons bay can be reached by ferry from No. 4 wharf at Circular Quay.
Both beaches are very pleasant, offering views up to the Harbour Bridge. The walk to the nudist beach passes old gun emplacements and a viewing platform of the harbour and the naked swimmers below makes the trip interesting. For those who are game the locals nudists are friendly and welcome visitors and first time skinny dippers

Today me and my friend went to Lady Bay to relax on the nude beach. Once we reached the water and were enjoying the sea, we noticed a nude guy looking at us from the beach, while he was masturbating. We are still in shock and feel dirty! Finally somebody told the guy to leave, but he could do his thing for a few minutes. Besides that, the beach is not private at all. From the top, on the way to the lighthouse you can look down at the beach and we saw a guy taking pictures. So be warned: Lady Bay is not safe for ladies.

Lady Bay or Lady Jane Beach is a small cove which has a mixture of sand and rock, with friendly locals and many visitors (as we were).
Getting here is a pleasant journey in itself, using the ferry from Sydney to Watsons Bay and then a short strole along the headland to the Bay. Final access is via a set of very safe metal stairs.
Because of the position most of the waves are calm making it a good for a quick dip.
As with all naturist beaches make sure you have all necesities with you as the shops are a little way back, though the ice cream man does call during the day. Public loo close by.
On the way back make sure you leave time for Doyles excellent Fish and Chips. excellent.

Lady Bay was one of my favourite beaches in Sydney. In terms of mostly all-male nude beach, it was probably the beach I visit the most due to its easiness by public transportation (whether by ferry or bus), so I didn't have to depend on taxi nor car to go here. The beach might not be as beautiful nor big as others, but I could be free and united with nature with just on my birth suit. It was so relaxing to be there and be totally nude by the beach and in the water, even for a guy who loves fashion like me. Although the beach area was not big, but I could explore beyond the rocks and found many spots where I could enjoy the sun, looking at the bay, and be totally free.

Lady Bay or Lady Jane Beach is a small harbour beach in Sydney which was one of the first beaches where nude bathing and nudism was allowed in Sydney. The beach is pretty small and its best to visit at low tide when theres a bit more sand. The walk to the beach is spectacular up south head with views across the harbour and the beach is easy to get to from the city by bus or ferry to Watson's Bay. Its best to visit on a weekday as it can get pretty busy on the weekends but its a cool day trip for an experience of Sydney nude life.

We like nudity but the beach was not nice at all, you can see only "fiddlers", not nice or relaxing atmosphere at all, btw the beach is very small and quite stony.

I will be in Sydney this week. Since this is Spring, will visiting Lady Jane Beach make sense or will it be too chilly?
