Good food

My wife and I had an excellent meal - tender steak genuinely cooked medium, and chilli prawns for her - both very good and modestly priced.

We wanted to get some late lunch after a day at the beach. This place caught our eye because of its prominent location, we thought you couldn't go wrong. The food is the worst we have come across on our 2 week stay in Australia. I had the fish burger and my husband the Chicken Caesar salad which were bad... More

Common courtesy is not practiced at Bondi Hotel. On a warm April night I met friends at Bondi Hotel for a farewell, and very quickly we were all overwhelmed by the intense open fire heaters surrounding us. My boyfriend very politely asked a staff member to turn off one (just one) of the heaters and was told "yes, sure". An... More

Was surprised to see the pubs open on Good Friday but I am not complaining. Great bowl of prawns and couple of pizzas for the kids. And not as busy inside as it was on the footpath so a pleasant place to eat. Beer was cold as well. 15% surcharge a bit steep but guess that is life.

Stopped for a drink after exploring Bondi. Looked like a really nice bar, (perfect for people watching) However the staff where so rude and had no care for customer service. The beer we ordered tasted off. When we told the staff they went to get the manger on duty he was rude and had no care for customer service. Very... More

Went there for mid-week lunch and had the special - one of each as there were three of us. Great food and a good size serve. Be aware that the menu says it comes with such as beans, or salad, but that is only when it is the weekend full cost, not the mid-week special. Even so, great food, nice... More

Hotel was clean and good size rooms, however it is accommodation above a pub. there was no breakfast available, had a shared balcony area, very basic room. I thought it was very over priced for what you got , which was really just a room in a pub. It is right on Bondi beach if that's what you are looking... More

The need to escape from the daunting tourist crowds who flock like lemmings (or vultures) to world famous Bondi Beach is immediately satisfied by ducking in to the wonderful old Bondi Hotel, ordering a frosty schooner and relaxing as the passing parade surges by. This is the perfect oasis from the madness of Bondi, and the first place I would... More

Place looked lovely and they were doing happy hour and $15 weekday meals! Stood at the bar to order and were completely ignored so we moved to the other side of the bar thinking they only serve that side. As soon as we moved they started serving people where we had been previously standing! After another 5 minutes we finally... More

Was roaming around bondi and for so many years we go in there for a swimming, we never realised that Bondi Hotel bostro offers a good burger. I am a burger lover, so anywhere I go, I am always aiming to have a juicy burger. While staring at the menu we saw that they offer a burger, so we got... More

Staying in Bondi Beach

Neighbourhood Profile
Bondi Beach
An iconic Australian suburb, Bondi Beach is famous for its fantastic beaches and views. Once the domain of backpackers, hundreds of tourists from all over the world descend en masse to Bondi in December ready to enjoy the "Aussie summer". Bondi Beach boasts impressive ocean views all along the many restaurants and bars on Campbell Parade. Wake up early and take a dip in the surf before walking the scenic stretch from Bondi to Coogee Beach. Stroll through the Saturday organic markets in North Bondi or grab some fish and chips and relax in the grassy area opposite the beach. For more upscale cuisine, head down to Hall Street where a range of new eateries have recently opened. Just make sure to save enough energy for the buzzing nightlife Bondi Beach has to offer.
