a real old school cosy inner city pub, we came here because my husband just wanted something simple and uncomplicated like a burger and chips and we were sure he would find what he wanted here. He was not disappointed, I ordered the vegetarian Nachos and found the spice intensity above my comfort level - no problem the delightful young barman/waiter very kindly offered me extra guacamole which was delicious.
The top level service and authentic pub atmosphere was really impressive

It has been a very long time since I have been in this Hotel. It's a great little inner city pub. The staff are great, friendly and the food is above par for pub food as well, a bonus. The best part I found is that there are no pokies in this pub, a great step in making a pub a place to visit with friends and socialise. When I'm next in the area I/we'd definitely make a return visit.

Great selection of craft beers. Lots of different local and Oz brews that you won’t normally get at your local rsl. Friendly vibe and cosy pub set in the heart of Surry Hills.

Hubby and I dropped by for some craft beer and had our daughter with us. We were able to grab a seat in their outdoor section before it filled up (not hard it’s tiny!!!). The beer selection was great and we enjoyed ours. The real surprise was how good their dumplings were. I had the mixed platter and they were delicious. Just be warned of the pile of red sauce also on the plate- a bit weird tasting and rather hot!

With a classic pub food menu (burgers, dogs, pies, curries, etc including several vegetarian & vegan options, as well as dumplings), and an impressive selection of beers on tap & in cans/bottles, this place is well worth a visit. Being an older building on a corner, it’s got a classic old pub feel. And a great playlist (if you like 1980s/1990s tunes as I do). There’s a small bar and separate lounge/dining area. Visiting around lunchtime on a Wed, the young chap behind the bar was friendly and welcoming - and obviously knowledgeable on the beers. There was a pie/curry and pint promo for $25.

My only criticism would be I was keen for a pie, but they didn’t have any of the veggie ones left. The black eyed pea curry was tasty albeit lacking in sauce.

All I wanted from my day off was fun beer and amazing dumplings. I assumed I would have to visit multiple venues to accomplish this. Turns out all I needed was this place.
Dumplings are all day, kitchen doesn’t close and beers are amazing and varied. It was great to start with a gose and finish with a barleywine. Can’t fault it. As to other reviews, bathrooms are older but were clean. Staff are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable about the product without being condescending. 10/10

Recommended by a friend - and what a great friend he turned out to be. This is beer heaven. Sooo many craft brews on tap, song with a few ciders too.
Great pub grub and superb, friendly, knowledgeable staff.
I’ll be back!

I phoned the hotel yesterday afternoon to check if I could have a meal with my little dog. The lady I spoke with was lovely & had to check with the manager. She came back to the phone after checking & said yes I could have a meal at the hotel with my little dog. 3 of us when into Surry Hills today for lunch. When we went in & said we had the dog the owner very quickly told us no. We were so looking forward to visiting & find it so disappointing that we bothered to make a call to check & then we wasted our time driving in thinking we were going to have a nice lunch. Don't worry we won't bother coming back.
