Neighbourhood: Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.

Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Have been to Uncle Mings many times and I absolutely love coming here late for nightcap. It is pretty decent for drinks and dumplings earlier too. The basement setting with old colonial Chinese feel really builds the atmosphere. Fantastic drink list with a leaning towards Japanese whisky 🥃 and beer 🍻. In summary it is fantastic.

My group of friends went here after we arrived in the city and found our original destination was closed - I quickly looked on maps to find any surrounding bars close to us and stumbled upon this. Since it was super close to Wynyard station it was an easy decision. And we were so thankful we decided to go there. The atmosphere is amazing with the decor really adding charm and good vibes. The dumplings were delicious and came out really quick. The drinks were different and exciting to try, and was not once disappointed. There was plenty of seating for large groups too and would 10/10 come here again. Such a cool, quirky hidden bar!

Great bar/pub hidden along the busy streets of Sydney. Drinks were good. Food was tasty. Prices were reasonable.

Funky Asian ( mainly Chinese decor but heavy emphasis on Japanese drink ingredients) in central Sydney.
Dark and mysterious gives you the feeling you’re in old Shanghai. Fantastic vibe.
You must try the Bruce Lee cocktail. Like the man himself, it’s a knockout👌
Highly recommended 👍

This LG bar was a pretty cool find. Great range of whiskey. We did seem invisible to the staff but if can look past that, it’s a great spot for a night cap.

The red lighting is kind of fun, probably mimmicking a Saigon brothel or something. Service was bad, waited 20 mins after ordering so I went up to the bar to find the drinks sitting there with waitstaff standing around doing nothing. The place was far from busy. The cocktails themselves were terrible, no thought or skill put into them. With the wealth of amazing bars within two blocks of this location, why would you bother?

Great ambience, excellent service. A bit cramped- I met a friend off a flight from the US and we wanted to meet a group of friends there but we were turned away at the door because she had a suitcase.

Great selection of offbeat drinks, especially the Asian whisky specialities (the Shanghai Roller is a show in itself). The dumplings are great and the atmosphere is super cool. Well worth checking out.

Service here was great! The dumplings weren't amazing but a very trendy atmosphere. Wouldn't come back for the food but would for the very friendly and accommodating staff.
