Neighbourhood: Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We found this spot as we were walking past on the way for dinner. We were intrigued by the sewing machine at the door so decided to pop in as we had some time.

It's not huge and there was a lot of reserved tables so we were lucky to grab a couple of seats. Drinks were nice and service was good. The food menu also sounded nice and reasonably priced, if we weren't heading for dinner we may have eaten there.

This is Sydney's Ardberg Embassy... Amongst the handful of bars around the world representing the iconic whisky house from the mighty Island of Islay!!
It's a hidden bar in the basement on the York street, very close to Wynyard train and bus stand and a short walk from QVB.
Lined with sewing machines at the entrance and lovely cosy bar downstairs. The music was not too loud and it was easy to have a conversation.
Drank some nice single malt (Ardberg) cocktails and liked the Smoking Rocket and the best one was Waves Caves & Close Shaves!!
The staff was very warm and patient and not in a rush inspite being a Friday night. Highly recommend this place anyday.

Been here many times, a great hidden basement bar with good food and a great selection of spirits, cocktails and bottled beers. An easy walk from Wynyard and you can hop into another local small bar before or after with Mojo just a couple of doors down and several others a stone's throw away.

The cocktail bar itself is lovely and the drinks original and delicious. The disappointment of the night was that I got accosted by the security man on arrival who did not ask to see my ID but demanded that I spoke to him and reprimanded me for not starting a conversation saying 'you have to talk to people you know'. I did not continue the altercation, however on leaving the bar chose to ignore him and when I got into the car he gave me the middle finger - twice. Disgusting behavior from an appalling man. Will be calling the bar in the morning to make a formal complaint. A shame because the rest of the bar is actually quite delightful.

Stopped in late for after dinner drinks and had a good time. Good atmosphere and music. Cocktails were tasty and made with flair. Good for couples or small groups.

Impressed with this busy little underground haunt. Lined with sewing machines at the entrance with a continued theme down in the bar, we enjoyed our visit and some yummo cocktails. Great atmosphere. Good staff.

My friend messaged me the address and advised to get a taxi from the hotel. The entrance looks like a sowing-shop, and once you step inside you almost want to step outside again because its a bit confusing where to go (talk about inconspicuous :-) )

However take a step through the western-style doors and down the stairs and you end up in a different world; a funky and vibrant bar that also does great meals.

I tried the wagu burger and it came with a generous serve of curry chips, after a short while all of our plates were empty, the curry chips were nice :-)

Stitch bar is a little different, perhaps a little quirky but you'll guaranteed to have a good time :-)
