Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

South Cronulla Beach
Glorious day today at South Cronulla Beach, full sun, air temperature of 27 and water temperature of 21. Beach opened at lunch time, closed before then due to dangerous rips. The water felt warmer than 21, it was great. Lots of beach sand erosion though like most Sydney beaches at this time. Still a great spot. The south side on the steps in front of Surf Club was the pick, near the water and cafes. Up went our umbrella in the holes provided, thank you council.

If you are a lover of stretches of bright white sand, surfers and ice creams, take a day to Cronulla Beach, the only Sydney beach accessible by train.
Waves, rock pools, an indoor pool, surf school, playgrounds, shops and cafes lining The Esplanade characterize this place (in short, there really is something for everyone).

Not as crowded as Bondi Beach but it does offer a nice and quiet sand beach with rock pool. If you are not fond of getting wet there is also a nice walk along the beach front.

Safe beach with lifesavers for swimming between the flags. Several rock pools to do laps, board surfing off the "point". Promenade the "Esplanade", cafés /take aways & ice cream nearby, kids playground. Don't let bad press put you off, greetings& welcome.

Lovely beach with picnic grounds, free parking and also easily accessible by train. Great place for a walk, swim or coffee. I often go down to South Cronulla Beach for coffee with friends and to sit back and enjoy the view. Cafes on the beach sell good coffee and you can even sit on the Surf Club steps with a coffee and watch the world go by. There are 2 good tidal swimming pools. Walk along the pathways by the beach and up to the mall for shopping or dining. Though there is free parking it is quite limited at the beach. Lots of restaurants, cafes and even a cinema not far from the beach.

This is the only beach in Sydney that you can catch a train all the way to the beach. Plus while there visit the many shops that sell everything from nick knacks to Groceries. The esplanade is beautiful and easy to walk, the beach is protected from most winds and is patrolled by life savers all year.

We came here after a day trip out of Sydney with a friend. As with all the beaches around Sydney they are all competing to be better than great. This beach does not disappoint.

Had two surfing lessons here with Cronulla Surfing Acadamy http://www.cronullasurfingacademy.com
Great beach - friendly lifeguards, very clean and good level of surf (for beginners). Nearby Wanda Beach has larger waves for more experienced surfers. Lots of free parking within walking distance of beach. South Cronulla itself has lots of restaurants / cafes and a modern cinema / shopping complex.

Where is the best place in Cronulla to watch the sunrise?
Written 22 July 2019
You will enjoy watching the beautiful sunrise anywhere along Cronulla Beach Walk including South Cronulla Beach.
Written 23 July 2019
(South) Cronulla Beach is about 500 metres from the train station. Coming out of the station, you cross Croydon Street and past Monro Park, across Gerrale Street and to the beach.
Hope this helps!
