We found many articles about attempts at removing the bats from Hyde Park.  On the evening of 10/8/2018 we counted about 10-15 of them flying around.  Not a larger swarm, but enough to see a couple flying above our heads.

This is right in the heart of Sydney. Expertly manicured lawns and flowers all tended to with care. Birds walking casually around with no fear. This is a lovely park, very pretty.

Beautiful park. A number of tourist spots are near the Park. St Mary's Cathedral, war memorial, Botanical Gardens. Great for sitting with coffee and watching the world go by.

Hyde Park is an oasis of calm and greenery in the city. It was spring, so flowers were in full bloom and very pretty. The archibald fountain is a must see!

Hyde Park was as good as ever during our recent visit to Sydney. It was fairly mild winter weather and ideal for perambulation. The ibises were out in force scouring the rubbish bins as well as exhibiting more attractive behavioural traits.

The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with
energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise
buildings and after-work drink places, high-end
shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners
frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a
dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit
the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle,
reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens
