The great synagogue is beautifully and artistically designed. The rabbi of the synagogue gave us a tour and description which was accompanied by a video. The history of the synagogue is linked to that of the Jewish presence in Australia. It was a very moving...More

A "must" for anyone, including other faiths. The tour guide was most engaging and one could tell he LOVED telling us about his beloved Synagogue. (Understandably, no photos were allowed)

This is Sydney's oldest synagogue and the architecture both external from Elizabeth Street) and internal is well worth seeing. The ceiling in the main area is celestial blue with scattered gold stars and is just beautiful. It is open a couple of days a week...More

Was here as part of the Sydney Open Event. As a group we were seated for an abbreviated 20min tour of the Synagogue. Security was tight as that is the world we live in now! Guides were passionate and knowledgable. All questions were well handled....More

We were only able to see it from the outside as it was locked, but as the oldest synagogue in Sydney, it is quite beautiful! It's certainly worth a visit especially if you're near Hyde Park

Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with
energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise
buildings and after-work drink places, high-end
shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners
frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a
dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit
the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle,
reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens
