Join the office workers having their lunch or a quick jog. You may walk through here on the way to the Art Gallery of NSW. It is a large area and has many places to sit and relax.

The Domain is many things to many people. For some it's a buffer between the city and the Art Gallery and on to Potts Point and Woolloomooloo, for others it's somewhere to kick a ball or throw a frisbee in your all too short lunch break, for still others it's a venue for opera and a wonderful array of other... We walked through this park on our way to the art gallery. It had some benches and pretty flowers and trees in one section. You can also look out over the city.

Takes forever to get there as there is public transport nor car park...takes a lonnnnng walk , good luck if is a rainy day, nothing to see there, just a badly managed park with tree branches all over, dirty too, and its unsafe, you get weirdos mental ill and junkies all over the park.

To visit the Art Gallery of New South Wales, which is a distance from the central shopping grid, you'll have to pass through The Domain (on foot or by bike, bus, car or taxi). It is a broad grassed expanse set aside in the 19th century. It is cut by some paths and roadways, and is often busy as it... More

The Domain is a nice large bit of parkland that most visitors and residents know as the green space surrounding the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Its most easily approached from Macquarie St on the eastern edge of the CBD. Its a very pleasant area to wander around and if you are visiting the Art Gallery anyway its a... More

The park is right behind Macquarie St, and St. Mary's Cathedral. It really is a continuation of the Botanical Gardens, except they are separated by a freeway that crosses thru. The park is popular with athletes, sports fields and concerts. If you want beauty stick with the Botanical Gardens.

The Domain is a park that is just behind the Art Gallery and off Macquarie St near the CBD. Its a great area of open to relax and walk around, whilst watching the jogger and lunchtime boot camps for the office staff near by. A nice area to escape the busy CBD

Nice park in the front of Art Gallery to sit down and relax, what is special for this park, it is very busy in lunch time with people who do sport: runners, rugby players, martial art fighters, nice picture.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
