If you don't want a surf beach with waves, there aren't a lot of options in the eastern suburbs (Little Bay's good, also the harbour beaches). Clovelly bay has a long lagoon a little bit protected from the ocean, although with a few smaller waves....More

This is the best spot in the eastern suburbs for a snorkel. You can drive and park here but it does get crowded on weekends, you can also get the bus here from the city. There are many types of fish to see, including the...More

Clovelly Beach is in the east of Sydney and has a nice little beach which is favoured by families. There is a nice little kiosk restaurant right on the beach and further up the hill a great pub where you can have a very nice...More

Clovelly is an idyllic cove and beach spot. Given the copious summer sunshine that was then in abundance, it was only natural that the family and i should repair there post haste. The water quality was excellent this past summer- very clear and transparent. It...More

It's a great place to swim in the sea without the discomfort of getting sandy and avoiding the waves of the beach.

Lots of concrete which makes this natural setting look ugly, very narrow beach and parklands but still popular - Cafe and lifesavers.

Terrific beach to go for a regular swim as it has a concrete boardwalk effect on both sides to dive in off. Quite a lot of fun when tide is high or seas are slightly rough. The sandy beach is well patronised by Mum's and...More

This beach comes during Bondi Coogee walk. It has very clear water, suitable for swimming. During the time I visited, there were children learning surfing. Worthwhile spending some time here to unwind.

We loved it here and found the rock pools and sunbathing decks to be both very attractive and very enticing. The water was very clear and cool, and my son and I could thoroughly enjoy our swim.

Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the
smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi
Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs
that does not have big waves, making it an excellent
family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right
across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens
in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night
of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity

Yes there is! It's slightly above and beside the beach/rock pool on the northern side, a great location for a party of friends.
