Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I spent 2 weeks in Sydney earlier this year with my Mum. I loved getting the tram to Centennial Park from Randwick as it was a very short journey - only about 3 stops. It's a massive park and filled with lots of interesting plants, trees and birds. Plenty of space to roam around and lots of places to sit in the shade when the heat gets too much. I'd recommend stopping at the Spruce Goose for a bite to eat - I'd especially recommend getting their chips with chicken salt - very tasty!

what an amazing place to have a morning run. i visited sydney for Sydney Marathon and after the event, i want to visit Bondi beach. this park, is not so far from the Bondi Junction where i stay, so i gave it a try. i met many runner and cyclist in this park. this park is just perfect, not too big and not too small. running around this park in two loops in the morning is perfect.

We got married last year at your venue and wanted to take a quick 1yr anniversary photo this weekend. We were trying to figure out a way to take a photo close to the restuarant and unfortunately a park ranger (white male, 40s) misinterpreted our behaviour. We were threatened with a fine, apart from being highly concerned that we now have a $600 fine - I was left extremely upset and really damaged my memories of being married at Homestead. If rangers are representative of the park, it is important they understand their role in customer service. It's laughable that the website directs visitors to contact the park rangers for any help or emergencies, they have an extremely poor reputation and I've now been victim to it. If this is the standard of the park's rangers, Im really concerned how others are treated when reaching out for support or help from the rangers. Absolutely horrible. Would have made me question having my wedding here if it happened a year earlier.

We walked and ran round the gravel circuit, visited the lake area with its lilies and the well maintained rose and flower gardens. We bought coffees and other beverages in the small restaurant. There are so many recreational activities to choose from including the children's playground, bicycle tracks, horse riding and watching the geese and black swans. The place became busier by 9 am when the crowds started building up, but there were still car parking spaces. A very family friendly place and well worth more than one visit.

Centennial Park has a treasured place in Australia's history. Centennial Park commemorates the foundation of Australia in 1788; the park was opened in January 1888. Centennial Park was the inspiration for the formation of the Commonwealth of Australia in 1901. Centennial Park is the largest urban park in Australia, it's a marvelous place for a walk or a run, and it's right in the center of Australia's largest city.

We really wanted to see a colony of wild flying fox fruit bats in Australia but could find no information online for locating one, other than a tour offered only one time per week. Finally our Sydney hosts pointed us to the Lachlan Preserve by the Lily Pond in Centennial Park. Jackpot - several thousand Grey-headed Flying Foxes are easily and close visible in the day time, with excellent opportunities to observe and photograph them at close range. We could not believe this amazing site was not listed on any web page anywhere. It is free to visit on your own. The park also provided unexpectedly amazing birdwatching and wildlife viewing for an urban park.

A Pedal car ( carrys 4 people) was rented by one of our group.
We found that there is no insurance provided by the hire company on any of their bike types. So if one was to have an accident and hit a pedestrian, car or another bike you the hirer would be libel.
This is very worrying due to the fact the Pedal Cars are hard to control and when negotiating even a small decent.
The braking system was not as good as it should have been and we were not offered helmets

Very risky business renting from this Company.

Centennial park has something for everyone - tons of activities for children, horse riding, cycling, running, dog walking, sport, moonlight cinema, concerts or picnicking.
I'm there most days walking my dog. The whole outer perimeter is leash free and she loves the freedom of being to run around and catch sticks.
It's a beautiful place for a wedding and I see them often in the avenue of paperbark trees.
The café and restaurant are great and dogs can also sit with you in the outdoor café area.
I feel privileged to have the park on my doorstep and I love that it is so well used and so well maintained.

I have been cycling in the park for over two decades. I was riding around yesterday and noticed almost every car speeding and when l found a ranger driving around, l asked him to wind down his window. I wanted to inform him that he should keep an eye on the situation. His response was both pathetic and negligent. He said "So what, cyclists have been speeding for years around the park". I could not believe someone who's job it was to enforce rules and SAFETY was so rude and disinterested. This man is a disgrace and if he is representative of the parks attitude towards cyclists then the park should fire all rangers and have an independent policing body looking after the park.

I have read many reviews with similar complaints. It is clearly a theme. The people they employ are simply driving round and collecting pay checks. They have no interest in being there or doing the right thing. As a park that is integral to Sydney and its exercise culture- this is not too standard.

The park tries to promote Rangers as a group, people can turn too for help, but clearly that is not the case.

I am taking this matter further with local council- its time for a change of culture.
