What a great way to revitalize a grand old building, make it into a high end shopping centre in the downtown core. it was very busy on a typical Saturday morning. four floors of shops from women's and men's fashion, pen shops, souvenirs, hobby shops, food and more. The stairways are beautiful when the sun streams through the stained glass... More

This is one of the most stunning buildings in Sydney that would not look out of place in some of the most historic buildings in Europe. It's in amazing condition and has plenty of shops (expensive ones) to look in.

Absolutely stunning building. From The outside it reminds me London's Harrods a bit (size and colour). Inside its full of boutiques and cafes and restaurant. You will find beautiful hanging clocks, staircases and old school lift. Well worth visiting!

We happened upon QVB while looking for an art gallery that featured Aboriginal art. What a beautiful building! Outstanding architecture from the past. Several levels, all accessible by lift of escalator. It continues many exclusive and unique shops as well as restaurants and cafes. It is definitely worth a visit.

It has been 13 years since I have been to Sydney and I had very fond memories of the QVB building. Mmmm...maybe i am a bit jaded and more well traveled. This is just another high end shopping mall without all the quirky little shops that I remembered. However, I did have a very good lunch at The Palace on... More

Not my first time here, I just love the vibe in this building. There's a buzz and a quaint sort of charm with the tiled floors and pretty coloured windows and so much going on. Great shops and lots of choices to eat and/or drink. A must see when in Sydney

Antique mall in the inside with quite expensive stores. I enjoyed experience of walking within the building.

Awesome place to hang out with sis and friends. So many shops in classical Victorian setting, and nice domes within the market.

I just adore that the integrity of the building has been preserved. Take time to appreciate the original tiled, windows and stained glass.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
