Your host is Richard Everett, the only Oenologist (or winemaker) conducting a small group or private wine tour of the Hunter Valley Wine Country. His guests get a unique behind the scenes insight into how the best wines of the Hunter Valley are made, with private guided tastings of the top wines at the best & most interesting of the 140+ wineries. Richard conducts the wine tastings, not the sales staff at the wineries, so you are spared the heavy sales pitch of their commercial wines & get to experience many wines not offered to the general public. Morning tea is at the famous Peppers Guesthouse & lunch is at the award winning Muse Cafe. Tours are available ex Sydney or from within the Hunter Valley.

We enjoyed our day trip to the Hunter Valley. This small exclusive tour run by Richard gave us an insight to into the history of wine making in the Hunter Valley and the opportunity to try some very fine wines. The experience was enhanced by the expertise and knowledge Richard shared with us.

Having read quite a few of the great reviews on Richard's page, it is hard to find anything new to say. This is a real wine appreciate tour - Richard imparts a lot of information about the growing of the grapes and the origin of the vines, the harvesting and processing of the grapes, and how the wines are made... Richard was a great host, this tour is not like the more commercial ones, we got to see more of the vineyards rather than just the tasting bar. This tour is great for people who want to get a better understanding and appreciation of wine, but also those already 'in the know' having prior knowledge of wine / wine production... More

My wife and I are fairly knowledgeable wine drinkers, but Richard provided us with a fantastic opportunity to share his expertise and passion. This day tour was the highlight of our Australian visit.

The day with Richard was awesome. He is very passionate about wine and his experience in the business makes the difference. Definitely the best wine tour I've ever participated! We went to two different vineyards and both of them were pretty nice. We learned about the process of producing wine, how to taste it and how to express ourselves in... More

Richard Everett provides an extremely detailed education on the region, the vineyards, the wines, and the right way to enjoy them. Our small group of 6 people booked this trip as part of our 6 weeks in Australia and NZ. It was a great way to start the trip. We visited Tyrrell's and Hungerford Hill Cellars. We also had lunch... Richard Everette is a fantastic oenologist and leads his tours with a love for the art, business, and history of wine. The tastings were informative and educational with a discussion focused on a variety of topics including the future of the wine-industry. Richard welcomes all levels to his tour, and he also fosters an environment that makes attendees comfortable, interested,... More
