We had the original climb booked for 8.1.19 but due to poor air quality because of the bush fire smoke, we had this cancelled with the option to reschedule or refund. We totally understand the reason for cancellation and appreciate this can’t be helped - but We were disappointed with the way it was handled, as we were told by voicemail only 20 mins before the climb was due to start, even though the weather had been the same all day and our climb was booked for the twilight climb at 6.05pm... so it stated off a rocky start.

The climb was rescheduled to 5.45 pm the following day (issuing us a €135 refund due to it no longer being a twilight climb & this was the difference in price), we were also told to ring up about 4pm to check the status of the climb. Which we did & was told it was going ahead. We turned up, and was given a courtesy voucher for €20 to either put towards souvenirs, put towards photos or spend in the shop... this was given to account for the inconvenience and was a nice touch!

Our leader, Darlington, was fabulous! He was full of information but in a lovely, chatty and fun way. He made the trip! He involved the full group & knew/remembered everyone’s names. The climb itself offered amazing views & was actually quite easy to do, as you take regular breaks for information and to take in the scenery.

Highly recommend the climb to anyone! Unfortunate experience to start with, which we wish they’d have handled better (possibly with an earlier cancellation or with a “possible cancellation” call)...

Don’t hesitate! Just book it! Worth every penny!!

It was a great photo op and a sense of accomplishment, especially as I'm afraid of heights. You wear a jumpsuit and harness and are clipped onto a cable for the whole trip. I thought that I would be nervous, but the guide was great and once we got going I never really felt nervous. The photo op is stunning...definitely pre-pay for the photo package if you're even remotely interested in the photo (and 10 second video) as the photo queue afterwards was quite long and the pre-pays got through straight away.

We phoned the day before and had a choice of times...worth knowing because you can check the weather forecast prior. Wear sensible shoes. Depending on the temperature outside you are advised to strip to your underwear before zipping yourself into the jump suit provided but you can sweat in your own clothes if you want to keep them on! Everything you bring with you must be placed in one of the secure lockers provided. Specs and sun glasses must be secured with supplied lanyards. They even offer handkerchiefs that clip on to the sleeve of your suit! Once equipped with your harness you are taken through some practice ladder/stairways. Before you leave the prep-zone you hook up to the safety line only unhooking upon your return post-climb. If you are afraid of heights then, bizarrely, only the horizontal access ways before you start climbing would give you white knuckles (because you can see through the walkway if you look down) but, really, there is zero percent chance of falling so just look ahead and enjoy the rush. You climb the bridge in stages with stops to take in the views and listen to your guide’s commentary on interesting facts through the radio headsets provided. Steep stairway/ladders to get on and off the arch but you ascend and descend gentle staircases on the arch itself. There are water fountains along the way, too, if you get thirsty. 3 hours or so seem to pass in a flash. This was a fantastic experience for us and we’d certainly do it again, maybe at sunset or sunrise next time. Not cheap but absolutely worth it. Go for it!

I was a little unsure about this attraction at first when I saw the price tag attached, but it was fantastic. There are three different routes you can take and sessions go frequently each day. Once you arrive you go through for a safety briefing and breathalyser test (you need to be under 0.05 if I remember correctly). After the briefing it's onto another room to get your safety gear on and lockers are provided for all personal possessions, they let you wear the key around your neck during the climb. You're not allowed to take anything up with you, glasses are allowed but safety straps are added.

From the moment we started the walk our guide was incredible informative about the surrounding area and history of the bridge itself. He talked us through each stage of the bridge and how it was built along with historical facts and stories from it's past and the history of the surrounding area. The climb itself isn't too strenuous, although it's a long time walking, much of it is spent stopping and looking at the view.

Along the route there were a number of photo points where we stopped and the guide took our photo individually then at the top we had a group photo and video. They charge a fair bit for the individual pictures but the group shot and the video are given to you for free at the end.

I'd definitely recommend it on your visit to Sydney. I'm aiming to revisit next time I'm in Sydney in order to try one of the other routes!

A small group of us went to the bridge to do the climb. I was very nervous about doing it as I am not in the best shape and have very bad knees. However, the pace of the climb was very manageable and comfortable. The depth of the steps made it easy to climb and didn't feel like a typical stairway. They have made this into a well oiled machine in how they handle crowds coming through. Definitely one of those things you just have to do when in Sydney!

While the views are beautiful and our guide was perky, it was not worth almost $1000 for the 3 of us (parents and 20 y.o.). We went up in spite of the rainy weather (no refunds, no rescheduling). We had to wear waterproof pants and coat during a miserably humid evening. I would have rather been soaking wet than stuffed in a sweat bag. Even if it hadnt been raining, I'm not sure it was worth the money, the bridge isnt that high and you can probably get great views from a high rise building.

I enjoyed the climb which was at twilight as it gave you some fantastic views of the harbour, the opera house etc. the climb itself isn’t that onerous as it’s only really the ladders from the pylons to the main structure that are difficult. Once you’re on the arch, it really is just a gentle slope and with stopping off points for photos it’s doesn’t feel too bad at all. You’re also hooked on all the way round in a snug fitting harness so there’s no risk of falling. Our guide was good but we did have a big party so there wasn’t much scope to ask questions. Luckily we had been into the visitors centre before the climb so picked up quite a bit of history from there.

A few points to note, no cameras (or loose objects) are allowed on the bridge so all photos are taken by the guide which you then have to pay for post climb. You will be breathalyzed prior to climbing so you may want to give that lunchtime wine or beer a miss. There were five of us in a group of fourteen who had to be retested but luckily we were all ok, whew! Finally, the experience does take a long time, there’s about an hour before the climb to get ready and trial your climbing, then the climb followed by a de-rigging. Expect to be here about 3hrs in total.

Another tick off the bucket list! The climb, the views and the commentary were all first class and we had a great day for it. The whole organisation was highly professional and safety was paramount. A highly recommended experience and for those in the cruise industry a decent discount is available too!

Too expensive and too many restrictions to make it a viable trip so decided against it.

OK accept the H&S element but not being able to take even a small camera with you is criminal.

Why would I want to spend more money on a photo or dvd just to say I'd been there when I'd already paid a shed load in getting there?

If money is no option go for it but if on a budget give it serious consideration as it is costly.

Amazing experience from start to finish! You feel very well looked after by the staff throughout the climb. Our tour guide (?Rhiann) was superb, she actually made an effort to get to know the group, learn all our names, tell great stories/jokes, and made the climb so much more fun. Would definitely recommend to others. Only feedback would be photos are quite expensive we paid $47 for 3x digital photos only!
