Beautiful, busy place with gorgeous beach and lots of shops, cafes and eateries. The weather was great when we went but the sea has dangerous rips so swimming between the flags and listening to lifeguards instructions is a must. Great place for a day trip.

Walked the 2 kms from Manly to Cabbage Tree Bay, beautiful scenery, easy stroll along well maintained path. Food outlet at Cabbage Tree Bay to refuel or obtain a drink at the end. Pleasant walk not too strenuous.

Visiting Sydney and staying in the CBD we took the ferry and ventured up to Manly for the day. What a great place for a family visit. The wharf is great as the starter then Manly beach we watched beach volleyball, rowing regatta, surfing and roller blading. Just fun filled action everywhere and that's without playing on the beach itself.... More

The beach is clean with many shops and and food nearby. Bluebottles were on beach yesterday, so be aware of conditions. Lovely bikepath the goes along it, will look into that next time. Nice steps to sit on on the way down to beach.

A nice beach to visit for water sports! Good for tanning lovers as well. Stay hydrated when visiting here. It can be very hot during the summer days.

Personally I don't like beaches but there is a lovely foreshore and lots of places to eat so it is a nice ferry ride across the harbour and a pleasant day out. probably a bonus if you love the surf beaches.

I really enjoyed taking the fairy to the Manly Beach. The view of the harbor and the Opera house was stunning! The beach itself was very busy. Cruising to Manly from Sydney's main ferry terminal, from Circular Quay, takes 30 minutes by public ferry, one can also take a private ferry. We were driven there by car which took us along the scenic shoreline past little enclaves, villages and gorgeous residences. It is no wonder why millions of tourists swam this beautiful beach. It flanks the busy... More

Hello! Thanks for the kind review! We LOVE Manly and we're glad you loved it too! Looks like you got off the beaten track – something we encourage all visitors to do. Move away from the main mall, and that’s where you’ll find all the secret spots. The seagulls love the smell of fish 'n' chips too and also want... More

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
