I travel quite frequently and one of the top things I do when visiting somewhere new is to visit the museums. This place is the smallest museum I have ever been too, and we had to actually pay to get in. 12 dollars adult entry...More

The Sydney Museum is a great place to learn about how Sydney came to be in Australia. If you are interested in learning how and when it came to be, this museum is the place to check out. Here are some pros and cons of...More

The Museum of Sydney is relatively small when compared to most museums that you can browse through all its exhibits in less than an hour. We were already going through the exhibits when one of the museum staff invited us to participate in a short...More

I think this is more interesting for Australians than international visitors. If you have time to kill, then this is fine, but otherwise spend your time elsewhere.

This museum was pretty good. The temporary exhibits are awesome. Demolished Sydney is really cool though.

The museum tells the story of Sydney and was built at the site of the first governor's house (the remains are seen in the foyer). It is relatively small and has a fee of 12 AUD, but the visit is definitely worth it.

The featured exhibit takes the lions share of space in this small museum. At this time, this is a mid century architects and designers exhibit. Since we went for Sydney history, it was a little disappointing. The history exhibits featured were interesting however. Many of...More

This museums existence is due to the fact that the original government house stood on this site and there is quite a lot of information about that. It is quite small especially when compared to the Melbourne Museum. There were only three small floors and...More

Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with
energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise
buildings and after-work drink places, high-end
shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners
frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a
dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit
the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle,
reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens
