About
Mona Vale ocean rockpool is located on the northern end of Mona Vale beach on Surfview Road. The pool is situated on the tip of a sand pit which one has to walk across the water depending on the tide to reach the pools. At high tide, the pools looks like they are actually floating in the ocean. The main pool is 30 meters long and the other pool is smaller and more suited to children.

Where do I start?! One of the cleanest ocean pools on the NB! Has a small kiddie pool and a larger/lap pool and it's super spacious, even on the busiest days! The pool is framed by rockpools and has the prettiest views.

Stunning location out on a spit with wave-swept rocks - provides some excitement when the waves get into the pool. No shade anywhere near it. A decent size but pretty shallow.

The pool is in a nice location, but is very small and shallow. Perhaps good for kids to splash around but insufficient for proper swimming

A gem of a rockpool situated between Basin Beach and Mona Vale Beach. Amenities close by and plenty of parking. A great spot to enjoy a swim or just take in the scenery. During the evening the pool has lights.

Mona Vale ocean Rockpool is interesting as it’s located on the tip of a sand spit which on high tide looks like its floating in the ocean. There are two pools one a 30 metre lap pool and the other a smaller toddler pool.
There are excellent facilities available close by including a children’s playground, picnic tables, toilets, parking and cafes.

For more than ten years, we always went to Mona Vale to do our weekly shopping. Who knows why it never occurred to me to look around on the side of the ocean. Warriewood Beach, Collaroy Beach, Dee Why Beach were well known and often visited places to me, but somehow Mona Vale didn’t attract me. Walking along the northern beaches from Avalon to Manly, I have seen and adored the long coastline and tried several rock pools. During this project, I became acquainted with the multiple points of this very spectacular and beautiful part of Sydney that I didn’t know much about before since, for years, I had lived in the Eastern suburbs of the city. Walking along the shore was the time when I discovered Apex Park and looking for a place to refuel myself; I found several coffee shops on Darley Street. The Armchair Collective and the Coffee Brothers are excellent choices. On the beach, when I arrived there, I visited the Bronze Kiosk.
Strolling on the ocean side, I memorized the two rock pools on the tip of a sand reef as places that I have to look up again. It was high tide, and from a distance, it looked like that a pond id floating in the ocean. Later, when the water level decreased, I was able to have a closer look. The bigger pool is 30 m long, good for lap swimming, but the water is quite shallow. The pool is only a bit deeper only at the side toward the ocean. There is another smaller pool for kids, with shallower water. A bit back, on the beach, you can find a shower and change room. The Ocean Rock Pool is on the northern end of Mona Vale beach on Surfview Road. In Apex Park, if your kids are already bored with the water ( I have never seen that happen), there is a children’s play area, and also electric BBQ-s.
Sometimes it is hard to take good pics since in high tides you get wet from the splashing waves, that’s spectacular, only my camera isn’t waterproof. For that purpose, I instead used my Huawei mobile, since it is easier to hide from the water. As I quickly checked, the photos came out all right. When I wanted to choose which one of them to attach to this review, I discovered that my lady friend’s little daughter deleted all of them, when she played with my mobile. Never mind. The pool is still there, and on Wednesday, I’ll be in that area again, so I’ll shot a few more pics. Now, all that I have some photos that I took two years ago, but for the beach, and the rock pool is only accidentally on a few of them. I promise, if it isn’t a rainy day, on Wednesday, I’ll put up some decent photos since this picturesque place on the shore of the ocean deserves it.
