Firstly.....lit was my first ballet experience. Probably my last. It wasn’t for me. I probably would have given it 1 or 2 stars....I was that bored.....but I don’t want to be rude or offend people. I just know it’s not for me. But I feel the opera, ballet etc should always be put on the bucket list. It’s a life experience.

The performance was magical. The sets were fantastic. The dancers were poetry. I was a beautiful experience. The whole event was a magnificent experience. The Australian Ballet should be proud of the whole event. I'm just sorry I can't give more than 5 stars. The theatre was full of children enjoying the show.

Visited yesterday to see the Nutcracker. What a flawless, talented and stunning cast, brought tears to my eyes. The international Danseurs (American and Danish) were thrilling. I will be looking to see more from the Australian Ballet

I am annual ticket holder of Australian ballet at Opera house and this time I saw matinee and night of first day.
Matinee was danced by Ako Kondo as suger plum fairly with her husband, Chengwu Guo danced as Nutcrasker prince. Clara was danced by Yuumi Yamada.
columbine by Rina Nemoto
All danced fantastically with very beautiful constume and background.
Night dance was ended by award ceremony of Telstra Dance award 2019 which was won by Jill Ogai.
Both performance is equality nice.

My memorable evening started off as I approached the Sydney Opera House to find the famed cruise ship’ Ovation of the Seas' on her way from White Island tragedy. That aside seeing her massive bulk back out of Circular Quay to almost slide under the bridge as she turned towards the heads to move onto her next port. This is quite a sight which I’ve seen on many occasions upon visiting our Opera House. If you happen to time your visit to include this vista, it’s quite a showstopper, even before you head into the domed sails.
I digress. I thoroughly enjoyed the ballet. The orchestra was its usual high standard giving the dancers a peak for which to aim. Nicole F. was conducting and Adam Bull was the other name I recognised as the magician. An important part but without a lot of dancing. Clara danced superbly as did the other soloists. They rightly attracted much applause both insitu and in the final bows. Costumes (great links from AB email) and stage effects were dazzling. I’ve seen this ballet performed before. While the multi-cultural dancers in costume too attracted much applause I’ve seen them better in other performances. I’ve also seen the rats more terrifying.
I would heartily recommend the AB Nutcracker (but be quick next time round as it sells out quickly-already sold out this time). Thanks Australian Ballet. A wonderful way to finish the year and to put us in the spirit of Christmas.
