I really enjoyed this tour and we visited lots of places and our guide Ross was brilliant. I was I little apprehensive at first, a walking tour with my feet. It wasn't too bad and we covered quite a lot of the city without being too tired, and Ros told us the history of each place we saw the local... More

Free tour with very knowledgable guides providing a lot about the history of the various sites. Unfortunately with my wife being Chinese she struggled to follow all the information even though fluent in English. Over 200 people showed up for the free walking tour and the five guides divided us up. With such a large group it is hard to... More

Great way to learn more about the history of The Rocks and appreciate contemporary perspectives. Josh was a passionate tour leader. Well paced delivery with plenty to interest Australian and international visitors. Good volume to ensure everyone could hear without crowding him in. Good fun for all ages.

When I did the tour our group was 100+ people, it was split between 2 tour guides.. 50 people per guide. It was not what I expected after reading so many good reviews. It was hard to hear anything the guide said because she did not have any type of loud speaker or voice enhancer. The parts of the tour... More

This tour of Sydney was awesome. Ali was organized, informative, patient, and fun! We were there over the holidays so it was a big group and she managed it well. The tour covered all the highlights of central Sydney and was chock full of good info. I will definitely take all of our visitors on this tour!

As the tour is advertised as free we did not have that high expectations. However our guide, Josh, turned out to be a fantastic storyteller with lots of great anecdotes and facts about the city, which are not necessarily in the guide books. His background as a history student clearly shows and he enriched us all with his knowledge and... More

These tours are well worth taking. You get to see major areas of interest and some minor, but quite fascinating, places as well. Our guide, Josh, was excellent. He told us many interesting stories and by the time the tour was finished we felt we had learned a great deal. Although billed as free, these students do work hard to... More

Started at 2:30 and finished at 5:30 at Circular Key - with a 15 minute break partway through. Great information, but be prepared to do some solid walking with most of it outdoors. Good restaurant and activity tips along the way. Very friendly. They only request a tip at the end, so that's all it will cost you.

We had a very enthusiastic guide, Ally was her name I think. Enjoyed the 'urban legends' and visited a few places I otherwise maybe would have missed. Also a nice way to learn a bit about the history of Australia.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
