About
Whether you're a beginner, an enthusiast or a working professional there's something in one of our workshops for you. We live and breathe photography. Hence, our motto is: "Photography, we live it..." Our principal tutor, Daniel Linnet, M.Photog, is an internationally acclaimed professional photographer who has drawn on his extensive experience and his photographic network to construct a sensational curriculum of workshops run by some of Sydney's most passionate teaching professionals. As a team of working professional photographers, our tutors draw on current, real-world knowledge to make your learning an experience, not just the presentation or regurgitation of a technical text book material. It is this commitment to your experience that keeps Sydney Photographic Workshops at the top of the list of Sydney's favourite photography schools.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Attended the Street photography workshop and general photography (8 weeks) 1 year ago. Very knowledgeable photographers, very inspiring and passionate. Learned lots in both, thank you!

I did the Speedlite workshop with Daniel Linnet and loved every minute. Daniel is an amazing teacher and so generous with his knowledge. He always find great models and thinks up interesting sets. Excellent value for money. I have done about 6 of Daniel’s courses and keep coming back for more. And thank you to Wendy for the great lunch and organisation.

I recently did a four-hour field trip around Barangaroo with Daniel as our tutor. The combination of the contemporary architecture set against the natural sand stone and the changing light conditions makes for great practice. Daniel is a generous, friendly and passionate teacher and he enthusiastically shares his vast experience and aesthetic sensibility in a readily digestible way. I would recommend his courses or field trips for any photography enthusiast from from entry level to accomplished.

What if you took a photo that you had never imagined you could achieve? Often in a photography course one is told where to stand, which settings to use, the only remaining activity being to press the button. While that is certainly there in the demonstration and confidence building part of the course Daniel, Ben and Wendy encouraged us to go further and to explore. That is where and how I learn. The day was well organised, with great models and settings. The group was small and Wendy made sure that everyone had a good opportunity at each setup. Highly recommended!

I have just completed the Premium Portrait Photography Workshop with Daniel, supported by the ever-helpful Wendy and Ben. I was everything I had hoped for – by the end I felt confident to plan, setup, manage the dialogue with models, compose shots to tell a story, and understand the many options my camera settings would give me to get the results I wanted. I now feel I have a process that will serve me well taking portraits of people in (almost) any circumstance. Daniel is a superb teacher and makes the whole learning experience fun and accessible. I will certainly be back for more courses soon!

Had a "one on one" session with Daniel Linnet.
Great environment, most conducive to a learning experience.
Daniel was professional, kind, helpful and extremely patient.
I have no doubt that if I have a problem I would be able to phone Daniel and that he would help.
I will go back if I have the need to upgrade my knowledge further.

I have just completed the beginner’s course and have to say that it was one of the most enjoyable learning experiences I have had in years! I started the course very nervous about being able to understand the millions of buttons on my camera and never thought I would be able to take photos that looked great. I was wrong. Daniel explained the underlying principles in an accessible and comprehensive way so that we could all make our own decisions about how we wanted our photos to look. Surely this is at the heart of photographic creativity, and something that he made me believe I could achieve. I now venture out with my camera set nearly permanently to manual. Even though I am at the beginning of my journey as a photographer, I am already producing photos that elicit emotional responses from people who see them, and which I am proud to show off. Thank you Daniel.

The on-location workshop run by Daniel and Wendy Linnet was nothing short of magical. Every detail had been thought of, from the location, preparation, briefing, crew, transportation, catering... including a special "cheese board" cake for my birthday as it happened to fall on the week we were away. The practical tips were priceless and they curated a wonderful group of passionate photographers - not a single dull or awkward moment. I will be doing more workshops in the future, for sure!

I can’t recommend this company highly enough.i have completed 3 courses and find them all to be easily explained with no pressure - just positive comments and suggestions to help you improve your photography.
Whilst they are very professional, they are relaxed and easy to learn from.

I returned for a second time to learn speed lights, previously I'd done the excellent course on portraiture. As Daniel says he 'demystifies' the use of speed lights. The course is packed with so many useful tip bits. It's a nice balance between technical, creative and practical. I definitely have more confidence with using speed lights and can't wait to get stuck into using Daniel's wonderful techniques.
