This is a fabulous gallery. I came in a group to see the space makers and room shakers exhibition and it was absolutely brilliant. The work is by young and wonderful ceramicists whose pieces take up whole rooms, enabling the viewer to be completely emmersed....More

This is a fabulous Gallery to visit, especially because it is free and you walk past some wonderful trees and vistas in the Domain to get there. It would take the best part of a day to see everything it has to offer. Unfortunately, wanting...More

Went primarily to the Archibald, which was its usual mixture of the whimsical t o tedious sycophantic picture of politicians and the glitterati , A shame that the Henry V111 was out of action

The Art Gallery of NSW is great. We went for an afternoon visit last year and ended up staying for 5 hours. There is so much really good quality art to look at. We didn't even make it to the Aboriginal art section. We did...More

My sister and I met up in Sydney for the long weekend. We went to see the 500 year old Tapestries that were amazing. Whilst there we thought we might as well see the Archibald Exhibition and were lucky enough to follow the Tour Guide...More

How wonderful to see these magnificent 15th century tapestries. A unique experience, that I had travelled from Queensland to see. The setting for the display of 6 large exhibits and the information provided via books, adjacent descriptions and film were very good. I did not...More

I've visited the Archibald for a number of years and always enjoyed my visit. This year, however, was a disappointment. Too many self-indulgent self-portraits and very little talent on view. The Art Gallery does a wonderful job of displaying the paintings but it appeared to...More

Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with
energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise
buildings and after-work drink places, high-end
shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners
frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a
dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit
the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle,
reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens
