About Dodgy Detours
Dodgy Detours is a small walking tour group that designs bespoke walks for those who want to see either Sydney or Bangkok from different angles. At Dodgy Detours we are interested in art in public places, the built environment, a sense of place, history, street art and the stories that make both cities what they are. Tours are generally in English. We can also do private tours if we get advance notice.

We would highly recommend Paul's tour of Siedler's Sydney. Our eyes and minds felt literally opened for the first time in a city we thought we knew well. Paul is the perfect guide to reveal Sydney's rich architectural and social history. The walking route took in many spectacular and iconic Sydney vistas. Knowledgeable, personable and a great storyteller, we thoroughly enjoyed Paul's company. This tour is full of delightful and unexpected surprises, and Paul saved the biggest until the end, with his grand reveal.

Dodgy Detours guide Paul took our small group on a delightful stroll through Harry Seidler's Sydney. The route took in some spectacular city sights during which Paul shared engaging information about Sydney, the architectural heritage Seidler drew from and aspects of Indigenous life. It was a wonderful walk which I would highly recommend.

Had a fantastic day out with Paul from Dodgy Detours. All 5 of our group are Sydney-siders but Paul showed us a whole new side to our home town. Paul was knowledgeable, engaging and passionate about his subject. We began with a walk around beautiful Lavender Bay including a stroll through Wendy Whiteley's amazing garden. After crossing the bridge we concentrated on the stunning Harry Siedler buildings but Paul also included glimpses into Sydney's indigenous and social history. I would highly recommend this tour. W. In these COVID times, Paul’s tour of Harry Seidler’s buildings was like being a traveller again but in our own city. Paul helps you to stop and look with new eyes at the gems of modern art and architecture in Sydney which we pass by normally without a thought. Paul’s enthusiasm for architecture and street art makes him an engaging guide. We went as a group of friends and we had a very special day together. I highly recommend this tour. Thanks Paul.

Traditionally a 'Wild Side' walker ... think 'Kokoda', Kilimanjaro, 'Camino' I was sceptical regarding a 'City Side' walk BUT Paul from Dodgy Detours managed to broaden my knowledge & horizons with his extremely well researched & informative walk from Milson's Point across the Harbour Bridge, into the Rocks plus the Quay. A must do!!
