Arriving by coach to near Sydney Opera House with views to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Cruise Ship across Circular Quay, we waited over a coffee on the waterfront for our cruise boat to arrive. It was the MV Sydney. It is classic art deco, with three cruising decks, a licensed bar, however it was a bit crowded around the seating arrangements. Our 34 odd tour members had the deck where lunch was served while others went up above.
Departing, we had a pleasant run out to near the heads and sighted those climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, en route and a good look at ferries and the shoreline. We settled down and had our lunch,a small buffet and even smaller dessert platter, but sufficient for a luncheon prior to the race out of the heads.
We sighted the larger yachts approaching with Infotrack and Commanche and their massive following of all size boats, cruise boats, yachts, churning up the water, while I swayed up and down camera in hand, catching many photos and videos.
It was a thrilling sight to follow all the yachts pass through the heads and off down to Hobart,Tasmania. This wasn't on the bucket list, butI have now ticked it off, smugly!

Had a fabulous morning whale watching tour today out of Sydney Harbour, breakfast included. Tour operator worked efficiently with ticketing, information & we boarded precisely on time. I would recommend taking travel sickness tablets, even if you think you will be okay, better to be safe than sorry. We were only in a metre swell today & it was pretty wobbly. Food was basic but nice, amenities & boat were clean. We were blessed to see the magnificent Humpback Whales, spouts, tails, fins & two breaches. We felt most grateful to see such majestic splendour. Staff are lovely, highly recommend going on this tour.

I absolutely loved my time spent on the Sydney Princess Cruise today! I went on the lunch cruise. We were lucky enough to have had a really kind and lovely older gentleman who was our host. He talked about all the sites and the history he was so entertaining and I didn’t get bored! He knew what he was talking about and if you had any questions he would answer them. I didn’t catch his name but hope he sees this 😊

We sat outside at a table with stunning views everywhere we looked. The bar was wonderful and has many drink options and are not expensive. The only think I would say was I was expecting a bit more in the way of seafood and such for the buffet there was many only salads and a curry kind of dish and some sausages and bread and pasta dishes. All were still to a high standard. It was a rainy day so when we went on seats and things were a bit wet but they came to dry them which was nice but wish they did this again further on in the trip when it rained again. When it rained we hoped in side to a table but there wasent many tables and all were quite big so had to share with some others but wasent a big problem. (Just hard to see out the windows so recommend upstairs!!) the sun can out so we moved back up stairs and it was lovely again. All the staff are very well trained and comforting and genuine good people 👍 The desert was a bit sad though I had a little slice. The boat is slow and relaxed a bit dated inside but not that much as it is decorated well.

Overall package though was just very good and I recommend to anybody really couples, families and all will love it 🤞the weather didn’t really bother us and it was really fun. Thanks to all on board.

I planned my Australia and New Zealand vacation with Princess Cruises so I could see the most I could within the 24 Days I had down-under. I did this even though Princess Cruises does not have a single supplement so I paid suite passage for two people. Princess Cruises was the only cruise line that offered the land tour. Since this was my first trip to the region I wanted to see as much of Australia and New Zealand as I could. The vacation started with a tour that took me from Sydney to Uluru then to Cairns and back to Sydney before boarding the Princess Cruise ship the Ruby Princess for a 12 day cruise around New Zealand. I planned to complete my trip with two days in Sydney after the cruise. Mistake number one was thinking Princess Cruises would delivery on their commitments and provide assistance and keep me informed. Princess Cruises did however meet their cruise contract terms. However, this does not mean they were at all worried about me enjoying my vacation.
I do want to say the Uluru and Cairns tour operated by a local Australian tour company was just wonderful. This might have set my expectations for the cruise. This is where a good vacation experience ended and dealing with rude and unresponsive cruise ship staff begin. The written instructions/directions that are provided mean nothing it seems the Ruby Princess is an exception as explained to me by a Guess Services staff member assigned to address my concerns. I booked to see and learn about Sydney Harbour and I wanted to go to Shark Island in particular and it was advertised as a 2.5 cruise. I was informed by email the night before that there was no going to Shark Island and they would make up for it with more prawns and cake (random) but I got neither. Then the boat was full of Chinese who were only interested in taking their pictures and gave no thought to anyone else. The rest of the motley crew were made up of spoilt children with their petulent parents. Now it was NOT advertised as a 'Party Cruise' because if it was, I would never have got it. I wanted to learn about the beautiful harbour of Sydney and all I heard was the captains nme, 'Dylan'. Horrible experience.

Chaotic start! Honestly they must have boarded people before, but we, and a few other couples around us were told on multiple occasions to line up in the wrong place and could see others directed elsewhere. The line to get tickets verified and then another to board the boat but everything was just a crowd of people blocking the walkway like a herd of sheep. It took over an hour to get through this process!
The food (bbq lunch) was not was promised but much more akin to a cheap wedding buffet in a small town community centre.
The sea was pretty rough but we love it like that and did well, however, more than half the people on board were inside with heads on tables or laying on lounges with sick bags all around.
We saw a few whales multiple times and we really enjoyed that part of the trip. Coming back which takes about an hour and it was after 3 so cooling down and dun low in the sky it was too cold to stay outside but the bodies strewn everywhere inside meant there was no option to be inside. Overall disappointing.

My wife and I went on the Whale Watch Cruise, departing at The Eastern Pontoon, Circular Quay @ 12:15 pm. I can now go to my grave happy. I have wanted to see whales - particularly the Humpbacked - for a very long time. Today the sightings must have stretched in to the hundreds. I am a happy man.
I did partake of the buffet lunch, which was perfectly adequate. In celebration I also did have some wine. The initial boat queue was a little chaotic and there was a lack of clear instructions. This was not helped by the fact that probably 95% of the passengers were from China and therefore understandably may not have followed the instructions over the tannoy.
There were a number of people who were seasick, so take precautions. We saw so many wales, breaching, blowing, tail slapping etc. (and pods of dolphins too) that eventually I just sat back with a glass (or two) of wine and just took it all in, without the frenzy around me of a scramble for camera shots. One such scramble did cause my wife to lose the contents of her wine glass, which the staff replaced. Had great banter with the staff who were informative, helpful; and tolerant and could not do enough for us. The weather was warm and the sea had a low swell, the light was fantastic and the company was good.
I can honestly say, one of the best experiences of my life.

This cruise was marred by the racist and out of date commentary by Ron, the owner. Customers should boycott this cruise until he begins a program of self education around the Aboriginal history of this city. The commentary stated that First Nations people were simply stone aged people and concentrated unduly on the hardship of colonials with little acknowledgment of Indigenous losses. No acknowledgment of country nor acknowledgment of the rich heritage of traditional ownership. I was embarrassed by this out of date, Eurocentric narrative which was obsessed with the rich and famous business elites who own trophy homes. What about the rich layers of traditional ownership? This was a tone deaf, right wing, Eurocentric commentary that needs proper cultural guidance.

From the moment we got on the boat, the crew were fantastic. We went on the Harbour lunch cruise which I would highly recommend. The senior lady on the microphone was very entertaining, very kind and very funny. The lunch crew were fantastic as were the bar staff.
The cruise was very enjoyable and relaxed. The food was of high standard and there was plenty of it.
An amazing cruise which my family really enjoyed. It was great value very affordable and not packed like other cruises.
Just great - don't change a thing.
