Booked a penthouse suite for our 31st wedding anniversary on grand princess months in advance and waited in anticipation hoping that it would be everything I imagined.
Thank you Princess cruises for the most an amazing wedding anniversary cruise. It truly lived up to my expectations. Champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries on arrival in suite, large jacuzzi spa bath, kind size bed views from balcony special 6 course dinner the list goes on. Definitely a winner can’t wait til our next cruise.

Exactly what we wanted. An affordable, laid back and enjoyable harbour cruise. For the price paid the food was more than fine and commentary was interesting and not too loud so you could zone in and out when you were at points that interested you. Definitely recommend!

Booked one of the only non-dinner cruises and didn’t regret it! Lovely tour and fine commentary. Would do it again if we’re here another time

The cruise was lovely and the food was simple but good. However, the guide’s commentary was culturally insensitive, referring to circular quay as where Australia started and speaking of First Nations people’s diet and language poorly. It was not deliberate but I think he would benefit from some cultural awareness training particularly when speaking to many international tourists about our history,

This cruise was marred by the racist and out of date commentary by Ron, the owner. Customers should boycott this cruise until he begins a program of self education around the Aboriginal history of this city. The commentary stated that First Nations people were simply stone aged people and concentrated unduly on the hardship of colonials with little acknowledgment of Indigenous losses. No acknowledgment of country nor acknowledgment of the rich heritage of traditional ownership. I was embarrassed by this out of date, Eurocentric narrative which was obsessed with the rich and famous business elites who own trophy homes. What about the rich layers of traditional ownership? This was a tone deaf, right wing, Eurocentric commentary that needs proper cultural guidance.

Very good view with great commentary, strongly recommended for first time Sydney visitors. At comparatively low cost too.

We were really looking forward to this BBQ lunch cruise of Sydney Harbour to celebrate our 12th anniversary but sadly, it’s not what it advertises,
Yes, the cruise was great, Ron was very informative even though some of his facts are a bit askew and he needs to double check them but he did make the cruise commentary interesting.
The BBQ lunch … definition of a bbq means grilled steaks, hamburgers, sausages, corn etc. Sadly the tough chicken in a Thai sauce and the bits of beef in whatever they were cooked in were terrible plus the frozen prawns … don’t get me started. The salads and veg were good but you need to BBQ … that’s what you are promoting otherwise change the name of your lunch time cruise to apply to what you serve.
I would not refer family or friends to do this cruise unless you change your promos or your food selection. Perhaps the morning or afternoon cruise without food would have been more suited.

Do not use.
I made a booking which I requested to be cancelled with more than 2 weeks notice. But they still charged me and are refusing to cooperate with a refund. Save yourself the hassle.

hi I am on the majestic princess feb 2020 to Hobart, Melbourne and Adelaide. Can anyone help with a suggested itinerary for each stop? I don't want to do the ships ones.

Hobart is a lovely city, walk around Constitution Dock, early morning for photos of many boats and perhaps sailing ship or two. If arriving on Saturday there is Salamanca Markets being held there.
Battery Point is the older part of town and has interesting buildings, it is near Constitution Dock and the Casino and Marina is just pass that. Then. up above you in that area there is Mt Wellington which has great views down over town and the harbour.
There are tours under Trip Advisor, that cover Mt Wellington, however, it depends on the day as I have been when the cloud covers the entire top where the lookout is.
One tour also covers Richmond, a historic little village about 25 mins or so away. If taking a tour further from Hobart ensure they guarantee a return to the ship or enable you to catch up with it at the next port.
We have left the ship and being 4 people took a taxi to drive us around the sights, discuss cost first.
Hope this helps.

I’m booked on the Sun Princess cruise from Fremantle to Fremantle visiting a couple of Indonesia ports including Komodo island. I’m not sure if my family needs a visa for Indonesia. We are Australian passport holders and don’t have visas when we fly to Bali. We have an excursion booked for Komodo island which we don’t want to miss by not having a visa. Hoping someone has done this cruise in the past 12 months & have any advice. Many thanks

Hi, considering Sydney to New Zealand round trip on the princess majestic, in case of sea sickness do they sell any sickness tablets on board?
Thanks

If you get it bad they can give you injections in the sick bay, just take your own tablets, but it's highly unlikely you need them, did this cruise twice ( and 16 others) never a problem and rarely heard of people being sea sick 😁

Hi
I read a lot of bad feedback about Sun Princess. We are thinking of booking a 9-day cruise from Fremantle to Adelaide in January 2020. Does the ship really smell of sewage? What about children running around the ship?
I will appreciate an honest opinion please.

I’m considering booking a 6 night cruise to Tasmania on February 17, 2019 as a break from a 3 week visit with friends in Sydney. I usually only stay with friends for a maximum 10 days so want to give them some space mid visit. I’ve only cruised once before (Vancouver Alaska inside passage) and enjoyed it. My questions are:
Is February a good time to cruise? Rough seas?
The itinerary seems a little strange with a stop in Port Arthur sandwiched between 2 separate stops in Hobart... is this a good thing?
Any comments, tips, suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks
Paul.

We have done a few 'local' cruises out of both Sydney and Melbourne (between Jan and March) which included ports of call at Tasmania, several Pacific Islands and NZ using both Princess Cruises and Caribbean. Weather has been great each time, but I guess there are no guarantees. Any cruise is great and we find the ports of call no matter where, are secondary to enjoying a pampered time on the ship. That said, Port Authur is a lovely side trip well worth the time.
One tip though, don't use the on board booking for a tour ashore which is way over-priced. In Hobart for example the ship booking for a local tour was on large busses and expensive. We used local small mini bus tours offered privately at the end of the wharf at less than a third of the ships price and the smaller busses gave a more personal tour and were able to visit places the larger busses couldn't get to. Paul.

Just about to book a 6 days cruise to Tasmania in November is it better to have your cabin mid forward or mid aft in case of bad weather and see sickness?
rosscoSydney
Peakhurst, Australia43 contributions
Sorry I took so long to answer. If you want a balcony cabin, get one midships on the lowest balcony deck possible. Try to get a cabin midships, as the ship then revolves around you. If you are not interested in a view, get a cabin low down in the centre. They are stabilised and don't rock all that much. November is a pretty good time for Tassie and the weather pretty stable. Always take a brolly with you though, as it can rain without notice, but usually just a shower.

Hello. My name is Anna and I have made a booking for 6 to whale watch on Thursday.
I have fronds visiting Sydney for the first and thought this might be nice, discovered 1 on the party spent eat meat and just wondering if fish or an alternative was an option or not?
If not well I'm sure they'll manage but if it is that would also be great to know, Anna Romanowski - Sydney

My wife is a vegetarian and they had options for her on our cruise, even at the steak dinner night.
