Arriving by coach to near Sydney Opera House with views to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Cruise Ship across Circular Quay, we waited over a coffee on the waterfront for our cruise boat to arrive. It was the MV Sydney. It is classic art deco, with three cruising decks, a licensed bar, however it was a bit crowded around the seating arrangements. Our 34 odd tour members had the deck where lunch was served while others went up above.
Departing, we had a pleasant run out to near the heads and sighted those climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, en route and a good look at ferries and the shoreline. We settled down and had our lunch,a small buffet and even smaller dessert platter, but sufficient for a luncheon prior to the race out of the heads.
We sighted the larger yachts approaching with Infotrack and Commanche and their massive following of all size boats, cruise boats, yachts, churning up the water, while I swayed up and down camera in hand, catching many photos and videos.
It was a thrilling sight to follow all the yachts pass through the heads and off down to Hobart,Tasmania. This wasn't on the bucket list, butI have now ticked it off, smugly!
