I booked the Me-Mel Island Cultural Cruise for a group of students and alumni working with Sydney Opera House. Fantastic and authentic cultural experience that deepened our knowledge of Country. The dance performances were great. The lunch was so delicious and plentiful. The boat itself is really cosy and the staff are helpful and lovely. Highly recommended for Sydneysiders to get to know their own backyard!…

ON Sun 13 June booked with Tribal Warrior the Me Mel (Goat Island ) Tour , a First Nations people cultural tour with Lunch included. Went with 2 other friends , we were picked up at Circular Quay , which is very convineant as light rail, buses, and ferrys arrive continuously, and everyone knows its location! We were welcomed aboard by wonderful friendly Host and indiginous staff. On arrival to the Island we received a Ochre and smoke ceremony, we were given a Dance ceremony, Cultural songs and more dance. History Tour around Island explaining the fauna and Flora , weapons demo, and their uses. Lunch was a fantastic buffet of variety dishes, salads a hot soup, fruits, Coffee. etc Best Valued Lunch Tour I have been on!!! Enjoyed this Tour and its People immensely! I ACKNOWLEDGE the First Nations People past, present and future, AND Thank them for allowing us on and sharing Me Mel Island !…

Three of us joined others on the Tribal Warrior Cruise to Goat Island and really enjoyed the experience. The interaction with the all First Nation peoples was an absolute pleasure. This was not, and neither was it advertised as a sophisticated experience - it was a "real life" experience with interaction with the past and the traditions of "Real Australians". We boarded their boat at Circular Quay proudly flying the First Nation's Flag and were soon disembarking at Goat Island for a welcoming ceremony with Ochre and Smoke to get us in the mood. Didgeridoo and dancing followed with the chance to join in. A display of native tools and weaponry and an explanation of Flora on the Island gave us insights into what local living conditions would have been like. The interaction with our hosts was always interesting and fun to listen to before we all (including the dancers and musicians ) returned on their Boat. Our hosts also joined us for a delicious lunch on board as we motored back to Circular Quay via the scenic route taking in Barangaroo, Spectacle Island and Cockatoo Island! Highly recommended for a "Real Life First Nation" experience!…

Thank you for an awesome day learning about Australia's First Nations people - cruising, traditional welcome, storytelling, song and dance, music, history, a walk on the island with sites of significance including of various plants and weapons, firestick demonstration before a final farewell, and beautiful food on the cruise back. Some amazingly approachable staff and performers who were happy to share their culture with us. And also one of the only ways to see certin Islands within the harbour that are off limits to the general public. An awesome experience! This tour only touched the surface of aboriginal culture and I will definitely be back for more events with this company - a hidden gem that needs to be publicised to the broader community! Look up their website, they do a range of activities around Sydney and Sydney harbour as well as activities for schools. For future events, I would love to see more opportunities during the course of the day to ask questions about the culture generally, and to experience other parts of aboriginal culture too (e.g. cooking and various crafts/arts such as weaving) - I will be back for more! (but understandable it was tricky to organise given there was only a couple of weeks notice for preparation for this cruise as part of Sydney Solstice, Sydney's winter festival). Absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it! 😊…

Cruise was excellent, shame we didn’t get to visit the island but can understand due to the weather it was not possible, Still got to see beautiful Sydney harbour and learnt a lot about our First Nations people.
