My adult son and I went on the NYE cruise 2022…we had a fabulous night.

The beginning was a little worrying, no one to gather our disparate groups and keep us connected to what was happening..the boat was late…we were all a little nervous given the strict boarding instructions

But once we were onboard and underway - a different story altogether. We had the best night, great company in the form of other guests and the staff…we danced, sang Karaoke, ate more food then we could imagine and it was delicious. The beer and wine flowed…our price was all inclusive …so it was good to see the abundance off inclusions.

Shout out to the captain, who did a fantastic job, in a very busy Sydney Harbour. We had the BEST viewing spot for the fireworks

The surprise of the night……So many of the crew could sing…amazingly well.

The pre cruise staff were equally as friendly and customer focussed, going out of their way to get things right. Thank you to you Amanda 😊

We even met Shane , the CEO…whose story with the company was interesting…22years..I think😊

This is not a black tie event, this is a party for young and old.

Tips
Wear flat shoes..I didn’t…my feet hurt from the dancing
Don’t eat anything before the cruise…so you can truly enjoy all the food
Prepare to sing karaoke
Be social make some new friends

I would love to have said this was a bad cruise…to keep it all to myself and my friends…but it would do the team a disservice. It was a great experience from beginning to end….

This was the cultural highlight of our short stay in Sydney. The wonderful crew and staff are all indigenous Australians. We were treated to their native dress, bracelet weaving, language, song, dance and live didjeridu music and a little history.

A special shout out to Karleen Green for the extra time she spent with us on our trip back to Circlar Quay!

Thank you for an awesome day learning about Australia's First Nations people - cruising, traditional welcome, storytelling, song and dance, music, history, a walk on the island with sites of significance including of various plants and weapons, firestick demonstration before a final farewell, and beautiful food on the cruise back. Some amazingly approachable staff and performers who were happy to share their culture with us. And also one of the only ways to see certin Islands within the harbour that are off limits to the general public. An awesome experience!

This tour only touched the surface of aboriginal culture and I will definitely be back for more events with this company - a hidden gem that needs to be publicised to the broader community! Look up their website, they do a range of activities around Sydney and Sydney harbour as well as activities for schools.

For future events, I would love to see more opportunities during the course of the day to ask questions about the culture generally, and to experience other parts of aboriginal culture too (e.g. cooking and various crafts/arts such as weaving) - I will be back for more! (but understandable it was tricky to organise given there was only a couple of weeks notice for preparation for this cruise as part of Sydney Solstice, Sydney's winter festival).

Absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it! 😊

I highly recommend this cultural cruise by Tribal Warrior. It was such a valuable opportunity to learn about First Nations culture, dance, song and history as well as the history of Australia, that was provided with skill, thought and generosity. The staff are excellent - very professional and kind. Keara, our guide was very impressive - very talented in the way she shared traditional dance, songs and knowledge of her culture and history with the audience. Profits from the cruise are used to support Tribal's important social programs for the community.

The table management on the cruise is absolutely a disaster.

The crew needs to figure out a way to sort out the table arrangements in an effective way.

You can’t just let people come in and sit anywhere if you have a plan in advance.

Everything else is fine!

I shall pay my respect to the respective land owners of Australia, the aboriginals and Torres Islanders in this review.

Thanks to the crew and aboriginal people for a great service on the vessel

Thanks Tribal Warrior for offering the public your Aboriginal Cultural Cruise. A unique opportunity to learn about one of the world's most beautiful Harbour from an Aboriginal cultural perspective. Our group of five had ages 18 to 59 and there was something in it for everyone. The commentary provided by the team is so good, can I suggest roving mics/headsets for the team members -- it would make it easier for them to ensure all the patrons hear their insight.

This was an amazing cruise. Learning about the history was wonderful but also devastating knowing what the Eora people went through during colonization. We learned much about the relationship between Bennelong and the European settlers.
The cruise to Me Mel (Goat Island) was cool. The sights along the way were breathtaking. When we reached the island we were treated to a beautiful traditional dance performance and learned more history. This is a must-do when you’re in Sydney.

We went on the midday cultural tour and were sadly very underwhelmed with the whole trip. They no longer visit Clark Island which sounds like it was a really well put together tour.

The boat trip has periodic commentary such as - 'this is lady macquarie chair - she used to sit there'.

Appreciate on the island that they were letting the youngster get some experience, but they were totally out of their depth with the large number of people.

Would have learnt more about the harbour on a captain cook cruise. Did get a very nice photo of Barangaroo.

I booked the Me-Mel Island Cultural Cruise for a group of students and alumni working with Sydney Opera House. Fantastic and authentic cultural experience that deepened our knowledge of Country. The dance performances were great. The lunch was so delicious and plentiful. The boat itself is really cosy and the staff are helpful and lovely. Highly recommended for Sydneysiders to get to know their own backyard!

We enjoyed the cruise but it could have been better with more experienced presenters The young girls doing most of the presentations were friendly but need help with their presentation skills - e.g. talking clearly without microphones. The dancing could be explained and not just demonstrated and more information provided about the islands and Harbour surrounds.
