About
The Forest Sky Pier is a spectacular architectural feature providing the panoramic views over the Coffs Coast and Hinterland. Cantilevered off the edge of Sealy Lookout in Orara East State Forest, the Forest Sky Pier projects 22 metres out over rainforest, 15 metres above the forest canopy. The Forest Sky Pier is a 5-10 minute drive off the Pacific Highway through banana plantations and forest, taking in amazing views as you travel up the hill side. It's a must-see destination for the North Coast.

Well worth a visit. In a car
Views are great! Can get crowded out at the end when trying to get selfies. Most people are patient and friendly. Leave your caravan at the park, do not bring your motorhome get a lift. The road is narrow, winding, very steep drop-offs and no guard rails.

Took a drive up here with friends we were visiting in Coffs Harbour. Nice drive up through rural properties and forest. The view is awesome, you can see most of the city and coast from here. There is a cafe of sorts at the car park but it was closed and I'm told it opens rarely. Nice walks through the forest from here too. Lots of parking. Some wildlife paid us a visit whilst up there too. Worth the drive.

    Worth the drive up.
Great! Awesome views despite the inclement weather. A windy drive to the top but well worth it. Cafe and amenities available. Would have stayed longer if the rain hadn’t stopped us.

    On top of the world
Wow worth the drive up through lush forest and hillsides full of banana plantations reaching skywards. This lookout is just stunning and a real must do here. An engineering wonder stainless steel structure feel like a bird soaring over the surrounding landscape. Our 90 year old dad thought it was just marvellous one of the best sights he’s ever seen! There was a feeling this was a special place to the local indigenous people and their involvement in this lookout area and in maintaining the bush and walks is testament to them and the local authority working together. Do take time to come up here

Had a great day out at the best look out spot in Gumbaynggirr Country! The Nyanggan Gapi cafe at the lookout is amazing too and serves lots of great food. The Giingan cultural tour that took place here was very informative

We were lucky to have a great day weatherwise to drive up to Sealy Lookout and the Forest Sky Pier from Coffs Harbour. There was ample parking and the Pier is free. Not for the faint hearted if you do not like heights, but worth the effort for the amazing views out over the coast and Coffs Harbour. If you have more time there is also a trek through the forest from the car park.

Took a half day to drive up to the Forest Sky Pier, beautiful lookout over Coffs Harbour. Also some walking trails that cover short 30 minutes to longer half day walks. Picnic area but facilities are basic. Worth spending some time driving up to the lookout, roads are a bit windy but well sealed.

From the fantastic drive up the mountian, to the spectacular lookout, to the walks around the area, this place should be one of your top priorities to visit when in the area.
I drove up on a weekday afternoon, so there werent many people around, but I would imagine on a weekend this road would be really quite busy. I would suggest it is not suitable for caravans as the road is quite narrow and windy, but has amazing vews the whole way. There are a couple of differnt lookout areas, with picnic tables and toilets at the sky pier. There is also a ropes course just down from the lookout and this is pretty cool to see as well

The drive up to the lookout was spectacular and we were excited at the new view we got every turn we made. The view from the lookout is amazing and we enjoyed a very short loop walk around the forest before heading away. This lookout is definitely worth a trip to when visiting Coffs Harbour 🙂

Forest Sky Pier is an awesome spot! Once you have enjoyed the view, take the short walk down nearby Gumgali Track for another view to the northern beaches. If you have a bit more time, stop at the carpark at the Gap for a stroll along the rainforest tracks in Bruxner Park Flora Reserve. Even the Queen has been here!

Quite a trek to get up there (for your car), but impressive (and free) views once you’re up there. The platform doesn’t stick out very far but nonetheless less a breathtaking view of Coffs Harbour awaits.

We didn’t stay very long, mostly because the cafe next to the platform was closed. There were no bins or places to buy food/drink, just some nearby toilets to use.

Would be better if the site was better facilitated. Especially during weekends, public holidays or school holidays.

Just a few kms outside of Coffs. Windy access road with a few very sharp bends but the view is definitely worth it. Downside - long drop toilets ( pew what a stink) And yes the platform sways gently in the wind but it’s safe. Reminded me of the Pala lookout in Hawaii
