The Bunker Cartoon Gallery is Australia's only dedicated cartoon gallery. It is housed in a genuine World War 2 underground bunker which was constructed in 1943 as a communications facility for the R.A.A.F. Today it is a quirky exhibition space with...more

This was pretty amazing to see the art in the bunker, the art was good and well set out. Well worth the look, as you never know what you'll find at an art show. Going into the bunker was neat, the concept makes good use...More
What to do on a wet day. Visited the bunker, saw a short film about the bunker. Very interesting then wandered around looking at the cartoons that were well displayed. Absolutely hilarious. Laugh out loud. All very topical and recent. Then sat down and looked...More

I am so glad you enjoyed your visit and also thank you for your kind remarks. Welcome back any time!
This old Bunker has now been transformed into The Bunker Cartoon Gallery. On arrival we were given a talk on the history of the Bunker which has been restored by the Rotary Club into a place where Cartoon Artists can display and sell their works....More

Thank you Dianne, it's always great to hear the feedback when people have enjoyed what we know is one of Coffs Harbour's best hidden attractions.
Paid our entrance money only to find out there are no cartoons. They have been replaced by an art exhibition. Apparently after the art exhibition there is going to be a photographic display. If you want cartoons enquire otherwise you will be disappointed like us....More

I am sorry you were disappointed, and apologies this wasn't explained to you before you paid and entered. This was a last minute exhibition to fill in where we had been booked for the Bald Archy exhibition which was cancelled after all our...More
A restored WWII bunker, more than 20,000 comics, and the friendliest staff in town! This is the largest private cartoon collection in the Southern hemisphere and it truly is heap of fun. On the other hand, the bunker is a chapter of the Pacific war...More

We are so glad you visited us and that your experience was so enjoyable. Thank you for your review.
What a great find off the beaten path. The bunker was used in World War 2 when our east coast was being attacked by the Germans and Japanese. They have a map showing all the ships that were sunk which is a piece of history...More

So pleased you found us and enjoyed the experience! We certainly try to provide plenty for our visitors to see - we are much more than 'just a cartoon gallery' - and hope that we will see you, and your friends, again soon! Thank you...More
A fantastic opportunity to get a giggle. This will keep you entertained for an hour or two. A great way to see our past politics from a cartoonist point of view. Also some great cartoons on our sporting success and failures.
The exhibitions are always changing at the Bunker Cartoon Gallery, so you can visit more than once and not see the same thing. Not only is this a gallery with a difference - it's in a WW2 bunker - it's lots of fun. Nothing boring...More
We have lived in Coffs for almost 10 years but we had never been here. This will definitely not be our last visit. The exhibition was excellent but the highlight of the visit was the wonderful volunteers working there. They were so helpful and so...More

Thank you so much for this lovely tribute to our volunteers. I will make sure to pass it on to all of them, and look forward to seeing lots more of you and your friends!
This is a nice concept, but we found that there were way too many political type caricature cartoons on display.
Definitely would have enjoyed seeing more cartoons/comic art on display on the walls as opposed to politicians, etc.
The location is also quite cool, being...More
