I've been whale watching a few times at various locations around the World and this was the best! We were very lucky to see so many whales the day we went and were spoilt for choice as to which way to look! Multiple full breaching, tail slapping and whales swimming either side of the boat made it a very special experience. The crew were excellent; friendly and entertaining but professional and very knowledgeable. The most impressive thing about them though was the obvious respect they have for the whales, getting us as close as they could to the action without hassling them. Wonderful morning and highly recommended.

Dived South Solitary on a couple of days with Jetty Dive. Not much to say other than professional organisation with a well run boat and good dive professionals. Plenty of gear at the shop to either hire or purchase. Soup and Snacks between the dives, marine toilet on the boat and divers are under cover. Nitrox available for those that want it. Very solid DM's/Instructors (nice job Nathan) to guide you around and appropriate for each level of diver.

Jetty Dive Centre went above and beyond on this dive trip. The boat captain was truly great in getting us to/from the dive site in some rather rough seas. We completed a two-tank dive and saw an amazing amount of fish and sea life, including sharks and sea turtles. Our dive master, Kate, also went above and beyond to ensure we had a safe and enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend diving with this dive shop!

What a great day! fantastic Skipper, crew & boat, got us out to deep water & whales within 10 minutes, unbelievable. The whales really turned it on as well with several visits to the boat & tail up dives by 2 juveniles. The crew was also very knowledgable & informative.
A great 1-1/2 hours & worth every cent.

This is the best dive centre!!!!
I did my scientific diver/first aid/O2 course and a few fun dives with Jetty Dive. They are AWESOME, all the staff are really friendly/welcoming and go out of their way to make sure everyone has a great experience. We were asking loads of questions in the shop about gear and they were helpful and knowledgeable.
I have since moved to Townsville and needed a battery change on my dive watch. I left it a bit late to send down to Jetty Dive before a trip and they went to the extra effort to get it back super fast. Can't recommend this centre enough - not to mention the diving in the Solitary Islands is epic!

A very joyful morning on the water with the team at Jetty Dive. Was an absolute brilliant day with plenty of action from the whales. The team were very accommodating and knowledgeable. Sharing plenty of laughs and taking plenty of photos we can’t not thank the team enough, definitely recommend trying!

My 12 year old and I had a great time today snorkelling the South Solitary Islands with Jetty Dive. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff. Andrew the boat skipper looked out for us snorkellers and went above and beyond to make it a good experience. Good quality equipment and a comfortable dive boat (with a toilet). Well equipped dive shop. Will definitely snorkel again with Jetty Dive next time we are in Coffs.

The team who took us out were great. Safe, knowledgeable and really hospitable hosts. We were spoilt with lots of whales and plenty of jumping! Would highly recommend this tour company for those who visit in the season. Thanks so much for a great day!

Debbie was super in helping with my booking. The trip was done professionally and the crew Graham and Andrew were first class. Got to see different pods of whales and at one time they emerged just next to our boat. On returning, Andrew brought us for a thrilling ride. What experience was memorable

the search for whales took abit to find. But oh boy we had the best time when we found then. 4 of then flapping their fins and tails right in front of us. then 2 stayed on and circled around the boat. we finally got into the water, what a thrill to see these magnificent animals in their environment. huge graceful creatures. just blew me away.

we are looking at going whale watching but looking for the right boat we have 3 kids (18months, 4 and 7) going aswell 5 adults. the 18month is very active loves climbing and quite hard to hold for long periods just wondering if this boat would be right for us

Hi,
As much as we would like to take you, I am worried that if you took your eyes and hands off your 18 mth old, there is a risk of climbing over the 500mm sides of our boat and fall in. the feature of the main boat that we operate Whale watching with, is the rubber tube sides, giving a smoother ride, but it has only 500mm high sides.

We have never dived in Australia (having lived in Fiji!) and my partner (a crazy Kiwi) wants to shark dive. We're coming to Coffs mid December - do you do shark dives (cageless) or is this a good time to see plenty of marine life? Sorry to sound ignorant but I don't know much about diving here! :-)

Hi, we do have Grey Nurse Sharks here, December is not the busiest time of year for them, but we can see them, they are great to dive with. We don't attract them they are just cruising about in an area around South Solitary Island. This part of the east coast of Aust is where the tropical fish meet all the southern fish, so we have a lot of the barrier reef fish here as well as the sharks.

Hey, Me and my wife were planning to visit Coffs Harbour for Christmas and were interested in snorkeling but have no experience. We can swim a little but again not extensive. Are we eligible for snorkeling and if so could you sent me your package at joegeo87 at gmail.

Hi,
We offer snorkelling trips to the Solitary Islands, The weather and sea conditions can vary greatly, so we usually inform people that some experience is needed as we can get some rough conditions.
If you can't swim that well, it would mean you would need a very good day to go. I would suggest you call us when you get here and we will know how the conditions are and then advise you what t do.
Cost per person is $75 and it usually runs for a half day.

No sorry I don't know for sure anyone who does it but there is another operator in Mullaway which is a town very close to Coffs Harbour. The company is called Dive Quest. They may do tours. We will be diving with them in December

Hi, Sorry I did not see your message till now.
To learn to dive you do need to swim 200 metres or snorkel 300 metres and also float for a 10 minute period as a test. For your own safety in the water.
So if you can do that, you will be OK. You will need to be medically fit to dive too. Our webpage on dive courses 3-4 day Open water course has all the details and links to medical questionaire you need to answer.
