I only did the section from Katoomba to Megalong Cemetery (and back) in a day trip. Spectacular views on the first section (from Katoomba to Nellies Glen). Be prepared for a steep descent of 20-30 mins. But the steps are generally in good shape with...More

Just hiked the trail over 3 days from jenolan to Katoomba. Was pretty in some sections - first 10km and last 10km. The rest was fire trail with no view and just went on and on. Definitely recommend doing it in the Jen->Katoomba direction because...More

Katoomba to Jenolan. Lots of hillwork. Stunning scenery. Hiked with Life's an Adventure and was not disappointed. Cold and rainy at summit on day 2 but even that was beautiful.

If you have an older 6Ft Track guide book (like myself) it probably says that there are no facilities at Alum Camp Site.........no tables, no water tanks, no toilets. You will be pleased to know that all of these facilities have fairly recently been added....More

A beautiful track however you have to be in the mindset to "Finish, Push on" if you get my drift. Usually the people who dislike the track don't have the right physique however if you are well prepared it can be done in two days...More
