Good interactive experiences but beware you need to book
Jul. 2021
Heads up - you need a booking and get in quick in school holidays as the spots go very quickly. We were lucky enough to find some tickets due to a cancellation 2 weeks before we went. Overall a great experience! Kids thoroughly enjoyed it. 2 hours was enough time to get through and see everything. The younger kids (7) didn't get as much as the older kids out of it, but still kept them entertained. The kids really enjoyed the section at the end, testing their skills and we spent most of our time in this section. The lightening display was a real disappointment and don't recommend waiting around for it. From memory this was one of the highlights, but it has changed since I last visited (many years ago). Would recommend for families and curious adults.

Needed a booking

Due to covid restrictions we were unable to visit this weekend, we tried for a few weeks to book but long weekend was booked out, this is not a complaint just a heads up to people wanting to visit during these difficult times.

Fantastic!

Before arriving I was a bit worried that 2 hours time session wouldn’t be enough to see everything however I was quickly put at ease. The 2 hour session is perfect. You are guided through each section with your group, the staff you start with, you also finish with so they come through each section with you. You have enough time in each section to try everything and definitely enough time to read everything to. Then once the time is up you continue to the next section. The staff really enjoy their jobs & were very knowledgeable. They were also great with my small children.

Good interactive museum for kids.

I think Questacon are doing Covid well. The structured time in each room works well, but a little disappointed that the a couple of rooms were closed and there was no food on site. Very difficult in Canberra to find food in the Parlimenary Triangle!!

It continues to be a great stop for the kids, but it has not changed in the 3-4 years since we last visited.

Sadly due to COVID you can only stay here for 2 hours with a time limit in each room but the staff are awesome as well as the exhibits. We went here to take us back to our primary school excursion. It is a pretty cool place that everyone can enjoy with the information you learn and it definitely makes science fun!

Fantastic

Having visited a number of science museum both locally and overseas, the Questacon ranks very highly for us. We are here with our 7 year old son and we love how interactive the displays are.
Great job to the staff who were at hand to help explain the displays and also make it fun for the kids.
Despite the Covid restrictions where visiting time is only in 2 hour blocks, we enjoyed our time here. Highlight would definitely be the earthquake simulator. Don't miss it!
Definitely a must to visit if you have kids (perhaps 6 and above) but remember to book your tickets online early.

Fun for all!!

You now have to book online for a 2 hour visit - quite easy. Turn up at the selected hour and you go through the different areas as a group. Just arriving there is fun - lots of fun you can play with the objects outside - xylophone, massive granite ball rotating on water, etc.
In each area there are so many thing to have a play with, look at, etc. Best part was the earthquake demonstration. Knowledgeable and friendly staff who enjoyed showing us the different apparatus.

Very Covid conscious.

Always good to visit

We've had a pass for Questacon for 5 years now. It's a great place to drop into after school for an hour or two. Great for a weekend afternoon as well or a day out in Canberra. Depending on level of interest the max time we've spent there is 3 hours. And the kids did everything. There is a fantastic areas for small kiddos to play and explore with things from building with blocks to water play and a jungle gym type contraption. My kids always wanted to sneak in well after the cut off age. The staff are fantastic and have some pretty awesome experiments to show you. There's a cafe that has recently been revamped and reasonable prices too. There's also a shop that has heaps of interesting things to purchase. Would recommend visiting.

A few changes but still a fun day out
Mar. 2021 • Family
Due to COVID you now book in for allocated time slot to enter and some sections are closed, info on this was on their website as we had to prebook tickets
You also have to follow their designated route but this wasn’t a problem for us

The flow was pretty good from room to room with enough time to check everything out without feeling like you were there for too long before they let you into the next section. All displayed were really clean and they were very diligent with hygiene which was reassuring to see

Staff were really knowledgeable and engaging with children and adults, their enthusiasm really made for an enjoyable day

Hoping a few of the other sections reopen soon, We will be back
