Historical and interesting. My husband was pleasantly surprised that the public were welcomed to take a look around inside.

I lucked out and visited Parliament on a sitting day with a public question session. Priceless entertainment!! The building itself is beautiful with various historical objects, including a copy of the Magna Carta, and an the actual writing desk on which Queen Victoria signed documents related to Australia and the Commonwealth. Free tours are offered, but if Parliament is in... More

This together with the Old Parliament building is worth visiting and if you can get tickets for question time in The House of Representatives, quite a show

This is a fascinating building in every way. It was deliberately built into the hill it sits in (not on) as a way of symbolising that the parliament is in the earth and th epeople rather than lauding over it. The marble columns in the central hall represent ancient gum forests, and the green leather in the lower house were... More

My wife was hooked on the place when she saw the huge tapestry in the Great Hall. The real buzz was question time in the House of Reps. We must have been there on a good day as people in the gallery beside us were almost at the rolling on the floor laughing stage. The a Prime Minister was having... More

The feeling of visiting the place from where a country is run , cannot be expressed in words. I appreciate the great effort done by government to allow the visitors to see the whole building with out any restrictions . We went to visit the parliament house on a Saturday. So the underground parking is free on weekends and public... More

Having wanted to visit the new Parliament House for a long time, I wasn't disappointed. Take a "behind the scenes" tour and you will really see and experience Government process close up. The historical art and its significance from the Old Parliament House has been seamlessly combined with a working Parliament. The contemporary design with Australian Influence is everywhere you... There are three places you should not miss in Canberra. One is the war memorial, two is the National Library and three is Parliament House. Give yourself plenty of time and make to sure to the guided tour. Unless you have a guide to explain it all, it will not make sense. It compares well to any national parliament in... More

Impressive modern mostly underground capital building. Drove around the grounds. Did not tour the building but the outside is worth seeing.
