Visited APH with family from Germany and they absolutely loved this place. Firstly the views from the courtyard before you even get into the building are lovely. The views from the roof even better! You can take a free tour of the building, which is always informative. We had missed it by only a short time, however the international visitors... More

Ok, you're not going to come to Canberra and NOT visit Parliament House. My advise would be to not allow too much time though. It's a spectacular building, and definitely recommend the roof views, but there's really not a lot to see. The Houses are open but only from the viewing galleries, and that's about it. 90% of the building... More

Good place to take children for a visit. It's interesting inside but the gardens outside is also grassy and large to run around. Do you know how big the flag is on the pole above the parliament house? The gift shop has a lot of nice Aussie themed souvenirs. Unfortunately, even at a place such as this, there are tourists... I am not one for politics, and to be really honest I was hoping to not see any politicians around. However, Parliament House is lovely. It is really cool to be in the house where the laws of Australia have been passed. Beautiful up keep. Cannot get over how soft and luscious the grass is on either side of the... More

Checking out the upper and lower house where you always see on the news is awesome. Great collections of gifts and paintings of former PM. The view of the upper deck is awesome. One problem is the front entrance door is narrow and my pram can't fit. I have to fold it up. And the tour go up and down... More

Well it seems we got to Parliament House and its famous grassed roof just in time before those restrictive barriers go up.At least that is what is currently being floated. Parliament inside it is not particularly large but the space is well used. We visited on a non-sitting day and there was no restrictions really. Security was very helpful suggesting... More

Would definitely recommend the free tour to guide you around the building and give you extra interesting facts (particularly if you're not interested in reading all the plaques like me). Friendly staff, great photo opportunities, lots to see!

We absolutely enjoyed our visit here. We joined a behind the scenes tour which was well worth it and very interesting to see. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and spoke of the history and symbolism which was great to learn of how it was built. The rooftop view was incredible also. Entry is free and tours you need to... With its unique design, and spaces open to the general public, Parliament House is a common place for tourist to visit. Cafe is reasonably priced, easy access to art works and viewing decks to both houses of parliament
