No Malcolm was not home. But a very interesting 45 mins around our Parliament ably assisted by Stephen. Loved the art work. Loved the history and anecdotes around the architecture of this beautiful and cool building, on an unseasonally hot day. Perfect.

We started the day early so as to be at Parliament House when it opened. We got on the first tour of the day. The guide was knowledgeable and very approachable. My suggestion -- got out of sitting time (you get more on the tours). The presentation was immaculate.

Good visit and great opportunity for one and all to see where the wheels turn. Next time we may grab a cuppa at the Cafe on Level one.

Arrived in time for the free guided tour which starts at 9:30 am. The literature stated 40 persons, but the group was far larger than that covering a wide range of persons from children to pensioners. The presentations on the Senate and House of Representatives were interesting, well researched and paced. The tour leader was articulate and also gave us... More

The architecture is inspiring and the art work around the building is beautiful. The free tour is worth it and the guides are lots of fun. Good collection of Australian books in the visitor's shop

Parliament house was an interesting place. I got to experience airport style security without the need for an airport and then I was allowed in. It is a lovely looking building and the areas within are easy to access. Lots of portraits to look at and access to the upper and lower houses of parliament. There was no actual politics... More

This was a wonderful experience to see the inside (and outside) of this superb building. After viewing it, understanding what each section represents, the type of materials used in the building, the art work, the architecture - you name it - it has everything! We should be proud of our beautiful building - the house of the people.

This is an interesting place to visit. Park underground - free for two hours which is ample time to take the lift or stairs up to Parliament House main entrance, enter through security (scanning of bags and body) and take a look at the amazing lobby, portraits upstairs and perhaps even sit in on the House of Reps or Senate... We went up to Parliament house with the intention of walking around the front having some photos and leaving. After chatting to the friendly staff at the front doors and them encouraging us to go in for a look, we did. So glad we did! So beautiful inside the foyer. Enjoyed walking around looking at the portraits of past Prime... More
