Completed this walk on June 1st, dropped by taxi near the War Memorial, commenced my walk at the Ataturk Memorial and continued on down to the New Zealand Memorial and Constitution Avenue and crossed over to the replicated New Zealand Memorial and back to my starting point. Lengthy walk but happy that I was able to undertake it and view the memorials on either side. Impressive "Parade' with the background of eucalyptus trees on either side, the memorials and the central strip in red gravel and planters containing the New Zealand 'Autumn Glory' shrub. Great overall view of the Parade with War Memorial overlooking from Mount Ainslie lookout. Not sure how frequent cleanups and maintenance is undertaken but paths and Memorials had varying amounts of debris from the eucalyptus trees both underfoot and on the Memorials and the white epoxy used to repair cracks and fill expansion joins really looked out of place.

A fitting name for a remarkable group of humans. ANZAC Parade Walk is a wide boulevard from the Australian War Memorial to the lake. It has numerous large memorials lining both side, commemorating Australia’s services and their involvement in numerous conflicts.

Up and down both sides of the parade are approx a dozen memorials dedicated to the various armed services and groups that were to service to both Australia and NZ. There are information signs giving a lot of information about each memorial and information about those who were memorialized. The place is prestine and feels very solemn. Allow at least a couple hours to take it all in and if you want to photograph the memorials, do the memorials on the western side in the morning and the eastern side in the afternoon.

The walk along Anzac Parade is flat and offers views of the Australian War Memorial to the north and the parliamentary triangle to the south. This is one of Canberra’s grand architectural features. Along Anzac Parade are many memorials commemorating the sacrifices of Australians and New Zealanders over the past century. Most are eye-catching and are interesting enough to make you want to learn more about the back story. An easy way to spend an hour ambling along the Parade.

Would’ve liked to have seen more and better war memorials. The best one by far is at the Parliament House end of the parade. 5 light horse men. What brilliant detail they are they almost look real! It was worth the walk from the war memorial where I had spent most of my day at.

Lots of monuments dedicated to our servicemen and women representing various wars. The memorial monuments are vey detailed, each with a plaque containing some information on the specific war the monument is related to. The walk is long, but easy, the terrain flat, and there are plent of seats to be able to rest if you get tired. There is no rush and its worth taking to time to look closely at the memorials, and read the information.

The Anzac Parade Walk is lovely. You should be aware that over the next few years, the ACT will be vending land all over the area for development. Try it now while there is still an air of otherworldliness about it.

I wanted to do this walk since I arrived - So I parked by the lake - Police Memorial walked around the lake to when I could see the War Memorial in the distance and walked across... WOW this is beautiful, I walked the complete length up the left side reading the memorials that are there...
At the top I had a look around the outside of the War memorial and into the Gardens.
Then walked back to the lake down the right side again reading all the Memorials that are there...
This is just amazing and difficult to put into words...
I am a history buff - Loved every second and the Australians must be proud to have such a beautiful memorial.
Highly Recommend

By any standards, ANZAC Parade is a fitting tribute to the servicemen and women who served in World War One, World War Two, Korea, Malaya, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and other conflicts.
ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps which fought in World War One.
This wide boulevard stretches from the Australian War Memorial to Lake Burley Griffin. On either side are groves of Australian gum trees and New Zealand hebe shrubs.
Spaced along the parade are statues, monuments and memorials to the various branches of the navy, army and airforce. Some are classic statues and others are abstract constructions, but all pay tribute to those who lost their lives in war.
I spent an hour walking along the parade looking at the memorials, but could easily have spent twice as long, but I had an appointment across town.

It is worth noting that Anzac Parade is 1.1km long and if you walk the section with the memorials and then back along the other side you are walking almost the entire length twice (plus the distance to where ever you are parked), so plan to spend enough time here to do the walk and experience each memorial.
I really enjoyed the different memorials, the design/style of each, reading the signage and learning about the significance of the difference elements. You need to walk through a memorial, not just take a quick look as you drive along Anzac Parade. You will also enjoy wonderful views towards old and new Parliament House and share the area with native parrots.
