One of the most famous battle honours of the Second World War, I believe this is probably the only specific 'TOBRUK' memorial around the world. It is a very nice memorial with several different facets to it. The most interesting for me was the original inscription stone from the Tobruk War Cemetery memorial, since destroyed.

It is really well worth the walk down Anzac Parade and back up the other side so you can see all these unique memorials to the different sections of the Armed Forces and the different conflicts they have served in.

The Rats of Tobruk are some of Australias most famous soldiers, serving in a combined force against the Germans in 1941. The memorial is inspired by a memorial built by those soldiers in the Tobruk War Cemetary, and includes the original inscription stone. Anzac Parade, leading up to the Australian War Memorial, is lined with several Memorials to unique aspects... More
