We had a great experience with Neil. He knows the city like the back of his hand and has a good knowledge on Australian politics. We highly recommend booking with Canberra Guided Tours if you are looking to get the most of the city in a short time.

Myself and my wife booked this trip as we knew very little about Canberra and we liked the positive reviews expressed. We were delighted with our day around Canberra. The guide, Olaf, was passionate about Canberra and imparted much information as well as a great itinerary including visits to both Parliament locations as well as some great observation platforms. The final excursion, to the War memorial and Last Post was very moving. We heartily recommend this tour company as a great introduction to the delights of Canberra.

Good day out that enabled us to see many of the classic Canberra sights. Guide was friendly and informative. We could have done most of the sights independently but the benefit of local and historical knowledge was worth the cost. Small group which was good so that we were left waiting for people as often happens in group tours. Would have liked more time in some places and less in others but that is the nature of day trips where unavoidable things come into play.

Canberra being designed for the car not pedestrians makes it difficult to ‘see’ the city if you only have a day or two so a tour is essential. My wife and I were glad we booked this tour as the owner/driver was knowledgeable, witty and with his knowledge of the parliamentary and legislative system introduced us the machinations of the Australian system. And some interesting gossip and people. Who would have thought, as visitors we would meet the equivalent of a British MP? We saw all the interesting buildings and sites with often moving explanations. Lunch at the new parliament building was interesting. Not least ‘ear wigging’ other tables. The day finished with a tribute to fallen Australians with a moving rendition of the ‘last post’ at the War Memorial’

Olaf our guide was so knowledgeable and we heard lots of stores from his time of working for parliament that I guess we would not normally have heard. We were shown all the sights and a few little extras and ended the tour at the War Memorial Last Post Ceremony, which was very moving. A great day out - but a long day. Bus is challenging to get in and out of if you have any health issues.

We enjoyed our tour with Neil. He planned this tour to give us the big picture of Canberra first & then worked his way into the detail. We came away feeling like we had learnt more about this city, the architecture & planning, and the great functions of Parliament than we would have if we’d gone alone. He had many interesting, relevant stories about Canberra. Thanks for a great day out, Neil. We highly recommend this tour.

Jacob was/is a very informative, thorough local Canberra guide about Aboriginal issues in Australia. He explained many of the exhibits and cultural aspects related to the country’s Aboriginal groups, and pointed out many features of the museum architecturally designed to highlight their traditions past and present.
Highly recommended: many commonalities with other Aboriginal groups such as those in Mexico (the plumed serpent) and Canada (Turtle Island)…

We had a fantastic tour with Neil who is a natural tour guide, great knowledge, sense of humour and made the day memorable. This is the perfect start to a visit to Canberra where you get a great overall view and understanding of the city and its highlights and tastes of things to go back to from a person that has lived locally for many years. This needs to be the first tour you do and this is the company to do it with.

For a short stay in a new City, an orientation tour is always a great idea. Neil's tour goes much further, providing in depth knowledge of Canberra's history, of Parliament and.the major attractions. It's not a rushed tour, but you'll see much and you're sure to come away knowing something new. I particularly enjoyed learning about Canberra's history and development as our Capital City.

Anyone who takes this tour will love it. Olaf our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area and could tell us some great stories back when he used to work in the cabinet office which made it all come alive and so very interesting. Questions are welcomed and answered with great color, detail and humor. Also good value for money - well worth doing. A must thing to do if it is a first time visit to Canberra
