Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A bunch of rocks in a field - not perhaps everybody's cup of tea but it floats my boat. It is work in progress - to date only the Federation Rocks (contribution from each of the States) have been installed. Each item is a massive boulder of a typical rock type for its State. All but the ironstone have a polished section to illustrate use as a building material.
Look forward to visiting again when the collection is larger.

You know I was originally going to write this off as a naff, 'bunch of rocks in a field' but then I read the previous review and realised that it's a little more quirky and unique then that and it foes indeed have a place in Australia's heritage. Yes it's a bunch of rocks, but that's what it's supposed to be. Intended as a tribute to Australia's geological legacy, the garden displays huge rock specimens from across the continent in a single location, their size not stopping thieves making off with a 1 tonne lump of quartz in 2014.

When my friend suggested going to the rock garden I though she must be joking. A few large rocks from each of the states - how interesting could that be? Well, the answer is that it is very interesting indeed. You don't have to be a geologist to find the beautiful large rocks quite fascinating. they each have a story and totally different shapes, colours and textures. A small square on each of them has been polished to show how beautiful the rocks are. I love it and highly recommend a visit. I understand there are plans for expansion and creating more of a garden around the rocks. There are no shops or cafes around but it is a good place for a picnic as it is near the lake.

A few rocks in a bare setting - surely Canberra can do better than this. How about adding a few more and some interactive explanations??

Took a double-take when visiting the National Rock Garden as I didn't expect it to just be a bunch of rocks without a sign guiding me to the right location. The rocks are really interesting & information is provided to the origin and type of rock present.
Would like to see further development on the rocks and possibly shelter, especially after having experienced hail whilst visiting. I feel like the 'garden' would really have potential with expansion and a greater variety of rocks.
