Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Roccaporena was the birthplace of one of the most famous among Catholic Saints, Rita of ascia. It's roughly five kms away from Cascia, where the mortal remains of the Saint are exposed for public veneration. I used to walk all the way from Cascia to Roccaporena whenever I visited Umbria. It would take me roughly 45 mins to an hour. The walk is very refreshing and scenic, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Once you reach Roccaporena, you can visit some places associated with the Saint, such as her native house, the miraculous rose garden, the church where she was baptized, and the so-called "Scoglio" --- a cliff which the Saint used to climb to pray. The climb is a bit challenging, but the view from the top is really amazing. There's a Via Crucis (Stations of the Cross) along the way and a small chapel on top. I would highly recommend a visit to this place. It is a spiritually nourishing experience.

The walk up to Roccaporena Rock was a bit tuff but I was able to make it up there in about 15-20min. The views and the story behind it was well worth the climb.

We also visited this little shrine in Roccaporena, where Rita was born and grew up. My mum, who is a devout Catholic, thinks that there is a better atmosphere to pray, as it’s not as crowded as Cascia and there are less art stimulations than in the other Basilica.

Basilica and area full of the presence of Santa Rita. Every corner of this church and these places exude holiness. A wonder not to be missed for devotion, culture and history.

Beautiful place, you can perceive Santa Rita in its fullness. It's all very close and fascinating. I perceived Santa Rita much more here than in Cascia. I highly recommend stopping by.
