:Cheesy" but Fun
Feb. 2020
We spent half a day here as part of a G Adventures tour. I suppose it's just like the other coffee finca tours, highly dependent on the guide. We got lucky and "Christian" took us through the coffee growing, picking, shelling, and raosting processes. The tour had some "hands on" components; we actually picked coffee beans the way it is actually done in Colombia. We were told that the steep terrain precludes the use of machines. Christian took us through traditional "coffee country" dances and music, a traditional lunch, and at the end, a cuppa the best stuff. The setting was beautiful, and it was well worth the time.

A better alternate to the Parque del café
Jan. 2020
Not far from ARMENIA (10 minutes by car), this small park is known only by locals:and therefore not overcrowded. It is a gem in the middle of the coffee area. We went there because the Parque del Café was closed for two days and really do not regret it.
Although it has not rides or mini train (not for children, the guide's jokes are adult only), this park is a real coffee plantation and the almost 3 hour-visit is well worth it: You will come out knowing all about growing coffee.

It's a must to experience this in Colombia!
Dec. 2019
The place is beautiful with a very traditional setup. People working there are warm and welcoming. They have established a very good way of introducing the coffee culture of the country. Expect to dance a little, taste a very good and fresh coffee and pick up beans in the gardens throughout your tour. I'd recommend the experience!

Awful, inappropriate, and not informative
Jan. 2020 • Friends
Despite being situated with a beautiful view, this “tour” did not provide any real idea of coffee processing, and only a minimal amount on growing. The “guide” put on a performance which included a number of gay and poop jokes.
Don’t go if you really want to learn about coffee. Offensive and a waste of time in such a beautiful area.

Catación de Cafe

We were staying nearby and decided to visit and try the coffee tasting - it was an insightful experience, knowing more about how to prepare and appreciate better quality coffee.

After we enjoyed the mirador for a drink and appreciated the surrounding nature.

Inappropriate behaviour towards women
Aug. 2019 • Family
On the last day of our amazing two week holiday in Colombia, we decided to visit this place. The place is beautiful and informative, the setting overlooks views that take your breath away and the knowledge gained from the experience is in depth and insightful. However we were deeply disappointed by the behaviour of one member of staff. As we were participating in the tour, the guide inappropriately touched an 18 year old female member of our group in an invasive way.The Act was done discreetly and caused the family member huge distress, she was really shaken up. When we complained to the management we were told to write the complaint in the feedback book and to be honest we didn’t feel like our complaint was taken seriously and we didn’t feel that any appropriate action was going to be taken from this. Our holiday was brought to a disappointing end and we hope that the management in Recuca will provide appropriate training to staff and ensure that this behaviour is condemned. It’s really important that respect for women is upheld at all times anywhere in the world.

Visiting Armenia
Aug. 2019 • Family
It deserves a couple more stars, the whole experience is amazing, tourist guides are super funny and easy going.

We enjoyed learning about the coffe industry and particularly how to properly prepare and drink coffee.

Worthwhile coffee plantation
Jul. 2019 • Family
This was part of our family group tour in Armenia. They were very accommodating, and stuck to the one hour request. Tour is usually 3-4 hours which seems a bit much. But, if you like coffee, which is one of the things Colombia is known for, you should visit. Staff and explanations were worthwhile.

Fun Way to Learn about Colombian Coffee Region
Jul. 2019 • Family
We enjoyed our tour at Recuca. It’s a didactic and fun way to learn about Colombian Coffee and the culture and people in that specific region. Alejandro Garcia, our guide, made it very fun and entertainment. We also enjoyed the local lunch. We wish we had had more time to attend the tasting session.
