Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The view from the top is stunning.
However, you need to pay the entrance fee and climb over 200 steps up and down. Some of them very challenging.
When you finally reach the beach, you will find the sign "no swimming". The sea is dangerous, the waves are bringing stones, sometimes very big.

The beach was clean and the water was blue, however it was rocky underneath the water. My advice is to use dive shoes to avoid cuts.
There were some food stalls, however it came with heavy price tag. Negotiate and lock the price before ordering. You may get a discount.
I was told the track had been improved, however be cautious because I found it quite steep. You might say the reward is the beach.

Atuh Beach is a one of the tourist destinations in the east Nusa Penida. The beauty of the natural cliff cleavage, soft white sand, and bright the blue seas on the beach, become a beautiful panorama among other beaches on Bali island.
Through a trip by fast boat cruises from Sanur port and welcomed by our driver who controls the area, making your trip to Atuh Beach will be Easy, Enjoy and Exaited.
In addition there are still many others tourist attractions beautiful and stunning.
Call Us : Price USD.$65 / IDR. 850.000

Lovely beach, great photo opportunities from the top. Quite a steep climb down, not recommended unless you are reasonable fit, but not nearly in the same league as Kelingking. Family stayed too sure whileI went down for a stroll along the beach. Again I would say nice beach, but not comparable to beautiful Kelingking. If you walk to the end of the beach, you will find a gem! A hidden path up the hillside. Follow this path up over the small hill to reach a secluded and little known beach on the other side! Beautiful scenery, don't miss it.

We were here 3 years ago and it was nice, place was beautiful. But now September 2022 trash abd derbis everywhere, in the ocean near warungs on a beach, like everywhere... Place in shadow cost like 10$, local people even do no try to clean it... It was pretty sad. Do no recommend it.

This beach is absolutely breath taking. However, the trek down is not easy. It’s a marathon not a race so enjoy the view while taking it slow and wear good shoes! I’m surprised no one has mentioned it but we were bitten by tiny white crab. My husband and I thought it was just us but then we started watching everyone swimming and after a few minutes, people were getting out because they too were bit. Something to keep in mind, it could depend on the time you go. Sitting on the beach was perfect for us. Please respect the locals and take a break from your phones.

Atuh Beach is a true hidden gem in Nusa Penida! The stunning cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and pristine white sand make this beach a paradise on earth. The view from the top of the cliffs is absolutely breathtaking—it's like something out of a postcard.
The beach is quite secluded, which adds to its charm. It’s a bit of a hike to get down, but the effort is completely worth it. Once you’re there, the peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty make it the perfect spot to relax and unwind.
Whether you’re swimming, sunbathing, or just soaking in the views, Atuh Beach is an absolute must-visit when in Nusa Penida. Highly recommended for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike!

But I sure as hell didn't go down there!
My body reacted with wanting to sit down and crawl back up when I saw the stairs.
And at the time I didn't even see what it looked like further down.
Seriously, I would have loved to go, but they don't go there with boats because of the dangerous waves further out.
But I understand that it is a marvelous beach for swimming and sunbathing..
Maybe if I was twenty years younger and not afraid of heights..
Here's a photo of the Atuh Beach and what the stairs look like from the outside.
Totally crazy.. Without anything to hold on to.

We’re currently staying in Nusa Ceningan and would like to take a day trip here. Can it be done on a scooter from the harbor? We’ve heard the road conditions are pretty bad but I have lots of experience riding scooters in SEA. Also, how long does it take one-way?
Written 4 November 2018
The road is good and haa a good view. We can also easily find petrol and foods along the road. Dont be worried about the road. It takes only 30-45 minutes, depends on how fast you drive. Depends on experience it takes less than one hour:) from the harbour make sure that you drive to the east side.
