Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A must visit on Nusa Penida! The natural pools are beautiful and the water is refreshingly cold plus the little beach is beautiful and a must see spot .
It's best to go early, we were there at around 10am and there was still very little other people .
You can either walk to the pools & beach or pay for a scooter ride. We opted to walk down , it was a 40 minute walk and the road is okay but only recommended if you are moderately fit . We opted to take a scooter ride back up as it won't be a easy hike back up the rocky road in the heat . Paid 50k per person for a one way scooter ride back up - be warned it's a very bumpy ride back up , the local guys know what their doing and know the road well but it's still a very dangerous ride so wear a helmet! I don't recommend driving this road on your own scooter unless you are very comfortable with driving steep and dangerous rocky roads.
Safe yourself the stress and pay the 50k to have a local guy drive you up & down!
There is also a lady with a little stall at the pools that sells cooldrinks/beers and snacks.
This was money well spend to see the beautiful view and the best swim we had on the island.

You CAN go down and up on a motorbike, even 2 people like us,
But yeah, maybe not for the person first time driving, for sure.
But can be made- lots of people do it everyday.LOTS !
Or you can walk as well.
Nice pools with clean water and nice small beach not for swimming.
I recommend to stay at the closest guesthouse : Temeling jungle inn, you can walk from there to the pools.
Good value for you money and then you can enjoy the pools longer.

We visited Tembeling Beach/Forest having seen how highly recommended it was and were enticed by the fact that it’s not on the tourist trail.
The track down is the least well made of any I’ve experienced in 2.5 months in Indonesia. It’s steep and there are sheer drops off the side. We paid to travel with drivers on the backs of their bikes and one of us crashed. Fortunately just cuts and grazes but really feel as though it was a lucky escape. I had already asked my driver to stop so I could get off and walk because it didn’t feel safe. Have ridden on scooters since I’ve been in Bali so it wasn’t a fear of riding on bikes, just this route. Take care or, better yet, walk down and back. Is it worth it? Hard to judge without factoring our experience in but I think probably not.

Tembeling's setting is magical. The second pool overlooks the beach and its water is crystal clear! We were first to arrive and couldn't identify the entrance though we parked the scooter at a side street and walked to Tembeling following an on line map.

Majority of the people still come to this island on a day trip. If they come for a day trip, then they either cover the Western part or the eastern part - I mean those famous places on these areas which makes Tembeling slightly exclusive. Now what you need to understand that only experienced riders can drive down to this place. This is not a problem of bad roads but these are tricky paths. So below is the advise
Once you reach there you will find a group of folks who will offer you bike rate per person 75000 IDR. Just avail this facility and let them drive you down to the point where we can hike down. You will see spring water, natural pool and fantastic beach to relax. Absolutely worth it with very few tourists and it is an adventure in itself. This is not as difficult as the trek down to kelingking beach but view is fantastic and the experience is quite unique.

One of our favourite things on Nusa Penida! Once you arrive it’s 50,000 idr per person and you get taken down on a scooter to the bottom, before a 10ish min walk down stairs. There is 3 fresh water springs all great for swimming, and a great view of a beach with surrounding cliffs, all of which our scooter drivers took us around to. The ride back up is a little scarier but nothing too intense, it made the whole experience more fun 😊

If someone told us in advance how we will get down to the beach - I’d refuse for sure as we were traveling with a kid but after all this trip was most memorable & beach worth seeing! Don’t try to walk down or get by yourself on a bike! Cheap but professional bike drivers are much better, faster & its a guarantee you will be safe. Enjoy amazing ocean, pool with spring water & amazing views from the caves! It’s my number 1 at Nusa Penida!
