We visited Tembeling Beach/Forest having seen how highly recommended it was and were enticed by the fact that it’s not on the tourist trail.
The track down is the least well made of any I’ve experienced in 2.5 months in Indonesia. It’s steep and there are sheer drops off the side. We paid to travel with drivers on the backs of their bikes and one of us crashed. Fortunately just cuts and grazes but really feel as though it was a lucky escape. I had already asked my driver to stop so I could get off and walk because it didn’t feel safe. Have ridden on scooters since I’ve been in Bali so it wasn’t a fear of riding on bikes, just this route. Take care or, better yet, walk down and back. Is it worth it? Hard to judge without factoring our experience in but I think probably not.

You arrive by road and the first thing, as in almost all Bali, you pay for parking (5k). They tell you you can get off with the bike, but it's a very complicated road. Go down on foot (almost 3 kilometers) and when you get down you find more Balinese who tell you that you should pay 10K to access the beach... like not paying if you have done 3 kilometers of downhill with a lot of slope! The beach is not worth it. All ramshackle, tubes that carry the water to the pool (sure it is natural?) and a stone beach with strong waves! How bad instagram is doing.
By the way, some Balinese with quite a few bad ways when we complain that it is okay to explain about paying before going down.

Small beach with a fresh water pool. Access is dangerous and you are asked to take a scooter down a track that should be prohibited for scooters. The risk is absolutely not worth it, especially since you are asked for 300,000 rupees to get off but by negotiating they accept half price, i.e. 150,000 rupees. They kill you by overtaking the tourists and their colleagues!!!!
Madness !!

Long way to get there then a bad road down to find a Small Natural Pool full of mosquitos and a very small beach where you cannot swim because of the strong currents.

Majority of the people still come to this island on a day trip. If they come for a day trip, then they either cover the Western part or the eastern part - I mean those famous places on these areas which makes Tembeling slightly exclusive. Now what you need to understand that only experienced riders can drive down to this place. This is not a problem of bad roads but these are tricky paths. So below is the advise

Once you reach there you will find a group of folks who will offer you bike rate per person 75000 IDR. Just avail this facility and let them drive you down to the point where we can hike down. You will see spring water, natural pool and fantastic beach to relax. Absolutely worth it with very few tourists and it is an adventure in itself. This is not as difficult as the trek down to kelingking beach but view is fantastic and the experience is quite unique.

Totally worth the trip down. When we reached the entrance (road down to the beach), there were a handful of men there where u can hire for 50k (round trip) to take you down via scooter. It’s a rough and extremely rocky ride down and up. I totally suggest you hiring these guys even if you have your own moped. The rocks were the size of my fist and at one point, the hill up was extremely steep. The view was spectacular. There are two pools below (one man-made), which I didn’t jump in, but it looked refreshing. The beach alone made it totally worth it and there’s a small cave. Honestly, for those who say it wasn’t worth it, you’re not an adventurist. You basically want things handed to you -hop off a bike, and see the view. Take the time to enjoy and experience the journey. And if you’re also complaining about the 50k fare, don’t go on vacation if you think 50k is too much. The locals find any way to scrounge up money to feed their families and honestly, 50k is chump change. If u have money to travel, you can spare 50k to help them

A place to relax!! The way down takes one hour. There is a toilet.
I do not recommend going down on a motorcycle.

Now there is scooter taxi mafia that won’t let you drive to the beach until 3-4 pm, and some mafia (group of Indonesian local men) that is waiting for you at the entry to the beach and asking you to put 10K per person in donation box without any tickets. All of that stops at 3-4 pm. Not recommended to go during the day.

A must visit on Nusa Penida! The natural pools are beautiful and the water is refreshingly cold plus the little beach is beautiful and a must see spot .

It's best to go early, we were there at around 10am and there was still very little other people .

You can either walk to the pools & beach or pay for a scooter ride. We opted to walk down , it was a 40 minute walk and the road is okay but only recommended if you are moderately fit . We opted to take a scooter ride back up as it won't be a easy hike back up the rocky road in the heat . Paid 50k per person for a one way scooter ride back up - be warned it's a very bumpy ride back up , the local guys know what their doing and know the road well but it's still a very dangerous ride so wear a helmet! I don't recommend driving this road on your own scooter unless you are very comfortable with driving steep and dangerous rocky roads.

Safe yourself the stress and pay the 50k to have a local guy drive you up & down!

There is also a lady with a little stall at the pools that sells cooldrinks/beers and snacks.

This was money well spend to see the beautiful view and the best swim we had on the island.
