My husband and I wanted a great place to watch the sunset, and Mount Wellington did not disappoint. A short walk from the parking lot, up the hill, provided stunning views of a beautiful sunset over the city.

Pleasant enough walk. Not much info available about the volcano site & surrounds, but makes for amazing views of the city & Rangitoto. Bit slippery on the loose soil on the way down, would only recommend for those stable on their feet. Not too difficult...More
