What a beautiful discovery Roko Island was! Arrive by boat from Seisia or Thursday Island. Enjoy a fishing trip with the guys, a fabulous lunch or the excellent bar, stroll around and discover the private island. Relax.
And once you are here, you will want to spend a few nights in one of the beautiful glamping tents! Sleep in all comfort, in a proper bed under a ventilator, in the middle of the nature. The shower and the bathroom are just mind-blowing. Urban comfort, but on a private island. It all comes with a three-course dinner (like in France) but facing a beautiful sunset. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the bar, the shade of the old trees and the coconut palms.
During the day, explore the small island. The stone-jetty across the mangrove forest is out of this world.
This is truly one of the ‘hidden gems’ in this area. Jason is working hard to give you all the comfort you need. The staff is friendly, always ready to chat with you.
Mind blowing, beautiful experience and such a lovely place.

Perfect location, magnificent food by the chef and amenities providing us with first class glamping.
I would have no hesitation in returning. Only improvement to suggest is have a pool for guests. Unable to swim in the pristine ocean.

If you have a spare night in Cape York to experience real island time living visit Roko Island. A short 20 minute boat trip from Seisia. The hosts and staff were friendly, helpful, entertaining, and made us part of their small family community for our stay. Accommodation was in one of 4 large tent houses on the beach front, add a touch of Bali with the large stone bath house and you have paradise.
Visit the old stone jetty meandering it's way through the large mangrove forest. Spot the resident crocodiles as they sun themselves on the banks at low tide. Take a walk with Nigel and hear the history of the island. Explore the island. Ask Jason and Zara to show you the pearls the family harvest and set in jewellery. (Roko as a working pearl farm is not in operation at this time) Taste the culinary delights of chef Adam. (All his fresh fish dishes are 5 star.)
Most of all, take a book, lay in the hammock or throw in a fishing line and relax on island time. 5 girls travelling to the tip did just this, it was a high light not to be missed.

Jason took us on a tour to the tip, Punsand, 4wd tracks then the pearl farm. We got to taste local gourmet food and coffee in the area, and he brought an esky of beer for the road. The Pearl farm is so relaxing, informative demonstration and comedy offered by our host Nigel. Made it back to the 4pm ferry after a demonstration of Jason's elite driving skills.
Highly recommended for your trip to the tip.

$90 per person was rather expensive for a boat ride to Roko island where we expected to view an active pearl farm. Unfortunately the island has favoured fishing tourism and the pearl aspect has become a secondary tour. The owners were lovely however they are in the process of changing their primary industry. Not recommended if wanting local pearls. Very disappointed.

The tour wasnot cheap but well worth it. The trip included a water taxi ride from TI to Friday Island, a beautfully fresh Japanese lunch while looking out over the water, and a demonstration and explanation of the culturing process. Of course the mandatory visit to the shop followed where they sell the local product plus imported black pearls. We later found out that the tour hosts had reorganised the timing to ensure that we got back to TI in time to catch the ferry back to the mainland. You may have to persist with arrangments and phone calls, s a lack of English seemed to be a prblem when making the arrangements.

Travelled 100's of kilometres up to Seisia with the van and needed a night away. Glamping on a remote island near Seisia sounded fun. Henrietta, the owner is absolutely delightful to deal with and organised for us to be picked up from the Wharf. From when we departed to when we returned, we we're not disappointed. Staff wonderful, location beautiful, accommodation comfortable and well laid out, food excellent and plentiful.
If you are interested in Pearls, Henrietta and her team can show you all there is to know. You can even purchase directly from her. If your interested in fishing they can arrange that also.
This is a must do when coming North. I highly recommend the experience.

A wonderful 5 star glamping experience. Tent was roomy & comfortable, fans, insect repellant available for your use. Amendities were clean & modern.
We had problems with our camper trailer on the PDR and asked if we could delay our visit by 2 days which Jason was happy to do. We were collected by Jason (owner) from Punsand Bay & dropped back as organised.

Food was great. We sat in on the pearl farm tour which was very informative.
Roko Is have a resident croc or 2 which we saw at night from the jetty.
Our only regret was not organising a fishing trip with them and staying 2 nights.

Roko island has delivered way beyond our expectations on multiple levels. We were picked up on Horn Island and taken via the bottle store on Thursday Island out to roco.
The purpose of our holiday was to experience the best that far North Queensland had to offer. We certainly found paydirt here.
Jason Henrietta Eugene and Co could not have been more Pleasant and more accommodating. They offer a comprehensive and personal travel experience.

Eugene is a master fisherman he made us feel comfortable and confident while we were out on the open Sea. He customised the fishing day to suit the tides and wind giving us a pleasant fishing experience.

While I'm not a seasoned fisherman by any measure it didn't limit me from having a lifelong experience. The ocean was teaming with aquatic life. We appreciated the ability to catch fish.... many fish of considerable size and mixed species on several different fishing systems and release them safely back into the ocean. Taking only that which we wish to have for supper the night ahead.

Henrietta is an outstanding chef ,her cooking skills are legendary.

If you are looking for a very down to earth and unique experience up on the cape I highly recommend sharing some time with these wonderful people.

The Island is peaceful and relaxing. The meals are awesome, fishing awesome, the owners and all staff couldn't be more friendly, hospitable, caring and really look after your every need, including finding me the crocodile to photograph. The tents were of high quality with ceiling fans and very clean.I would highly recommend going to this fabulous island, and meeting these lovely people. Would visit and stay again in this little piece of paradise.
