The four day Velo de Vines ride cleverly combines tourism and cycling on the car-free trails from Adelaide to Adelaide Hills and the Barossa wine region. The bikes are really good, you get to cycle the best sections of the cycle paths, the accommodation is good and there is spare time to check out the historic town of Hahndorf in the Hills and the wineries in the Barossa. It’s a really good way to visit this lovely part of Australia.

Our tour guide Jack was friendly and professional; he certainly knew the Adelaide Hills like the back of his hand. The benefit of the e-bike made cycling up and down hills so much easier. The Hahndorf half day tour was perfect despite the hot weather, and the hardest part was walking back to the car afterwards. Great to cycle to Beerenberg for strawberry picking, then on to Nepenthe for a light lunch and our final destination The Lane Vineyard for more refreshments. A great day indeed and the fact they do full day tours too and other locations make it an exceptional way to see the beautiful scenery and have fun whilst peddling with ease.

What a fabulous 7day cycle trip taking us from the the gorgeous South Australian coastline through the stunning wine regions with Bike About. Daniel shared his extensive local knowledge as we cycled the McLaren Vale and Mt Lofty’s rolling hills, the Barossa and Adelaide Hills, enjoying gorgeous scenery, fabulous winery tastings and local foods and cheeses. Following a great night sleep at gorgeous accommodation along the way our mornings commenced on the right pedal with exceptional coffee and hot chocolate from Daniel’s favourite cafés (and highly rated by previous clients). Thanks so much Jack and Dan for a fabulous trip. I’m looking forward to the next one with you both. I can not recommend Bike About highly enough!

This was seriously the best way to experience Adelaide Hills food and wine. We did the Handorf experience. The e-bikes make the trip so easy and enjoyable and they’re really easy to use, even for someone who doesn’t ride often. Jack is a fantastic guide, highly recommend!!

We gathered from Manchester and York in the UK and Canberra to travel on the Overland train from Melbourne to Adelaide, where we enjoyed the 3-hour Adelaide City Scenic Electric Bike Tour. One of our number had not ridden a bike for 16 years and was naturally trepidacious. All went smoothly under Dan’s expert tutelage. We began at the Bloom Café and progressed through gardens along the banks of the River Torrens. We visited the Adelaide Oval and had a delightful lunch at the National Wine Centre before making our way back through the Botanic Gardens. This is an accessible and enjoyable activity for all visitors to Adelaide.

We had a fantastic memorable time on our tour. Every day provided different and interesting rides . Bikeabout had planned a well balanced itinerary with support when it was needed. All our eating and coffee experiences were amazing I didn’t want the tour to end !!!

We spent 5 days with the crew from Bike About, and from start to finish it was AMAZING! so well organised, accommodation was fantastic and the vendors we visited were of a high standard, the bikes were high quality and were easy to use.
Dan and his team were exceptional, very helpful and friendly, would 100% recommend this trip to anyone wanting a different experience of South Australia.

We really enjoyed our morning cycling in and around the Cleland Conservation Park. Nothing was too much trouble for Dan, who was our guide for the morning. We had a bit of prior experience riding rail trails and linear parks on conventional bikes, but Dan quickly got us orientated to their well maintained, top-of-the range e-bikes and the challenges of the tracks which were easy in most parts and a bit tricky in a few spots. He was a great mentor and we were quicky and confidently winding our way through the park. Dan pointed out the koalas and kangaroos along the way. The view of the city from the Mt Osmond lookout was spectacular and the scenery along the way was inspiring. We would highly recommend the experience and Bike About as great hosts.

Highly recommend the 5 day ebike tour through Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley. Really well considered itinerary providing a variety of landscapes and experiences. Dan was an awesome guide. He knew a lot about the local areas we rode through being from the area and could recommend places of interest, cafes etc. My husband and I really enjoyed his company with lots of friendly banter. The whole tour was well-organised but relaxed. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Our first biking holiday and it could not have been any better. Simply stunning part of the world and they have good wine as well! Cycling on their excellent bike tracks was the best way to enjoy it. Everything worked without any stress. Thanks to Dan and Jack, we were well looked after. Hope to get back so time.
