Our best cellar door experience in Tassie

We have been to Holm Oak twice - 2010 & 2021.
Our visit this year was a cold & slightly damp day in late June.
There was no one else there & the fire was on!
I’m a wine club member there so perhaps that helped - but we spent over. 2 hours throughly enjoying the wines & ourselves.
I can’t recommend it too highly.

I loved this place. We tried very nice wine and some cheeses, got to feed the pigs and play with the dogs, I left with a nice bottle of moscato.

An absolute pleasure

We were received at Holm Oak with a wonderful welcome from Tamika. We hadn’t booked but we’re still able to do a tasting. Choice of four wines for $10. Three independent minds found something to like in several Holm Oak wines and didn’t leave empty handed. Tamika was both informative and friendly, never lecturing or preachy. It is possible to receive as much or an little attention as you need which is just the way it should be.
During our time we did see others partaking in the cheese plates available, enjoying a Saturday afternoon in the sun amongst the vines. Lovely spot and all the better for the friendly attention we received

We were vineyard hopping and were advised to come here by the local lavender man and boy did it not dissapoint. You can make your own charquterie board and put all sorts of stuff on it. Lovely wine for the wife and a bit of fun feeding the happy piggies apples. 👌👌👍👍.

Friendly, relaxed experience with great wines.

Out of the dozen or so wineries open in the region we chose Holm Oak based on its Halliday reviews and they did not disappoint.
The tasting experience here is friendly, welcoming and generous. There’s a choice of flights pitched at various cost and taste levels and the more expensive choice was well worth it - especially as they were happy to offer a fee extras if you were trying to lock in which chardonnay or pinot to purchase.
No café here as such, but they do have a very good larder from which you can purchase reasonably priced cheese, meats and extras, and then snack on them at your table as you taste.
There a nice view over the vineyards, a couple of dogs to pat, and great hosts.
The perfect wine tasting experience.

🍷Local Gem

Holm Oak and Sinapius are the wineries you won’t want to miss on the Tamar.
The staff here are so friendly, passionate and overflowing with local knowledge.
🍷 With plenty to taste in a wide variety, every palate should be able to find a bottle or three to take home. The Wizard Chardonnay and Shiraz were our picks.
🫐🍓 We even did a mini forage down in their fruit trees for some delicious strawberries, raspberries and blackberries warmed in the sun.

Work Christmas Lunch
Dec. 2020 • Friends
I took my little work team to Holm Oak for lunch.
Fabulous!!
We all had wine tasting flights which were informative, fun and tasted amazing, extra bonus we all got an additional wine (Muscat) with some fudge to try.
We went the little providore and made our own platters, only downside was limited food for the vegan (which was not explained to me when booking)
However to excellent wines, service, atmosphere and views outweighed my jar of olive lunch.....
I did see other guests get some amazing looking platters with fruit and things brought to their table, they must have been "special"
That aside I would highly recommend and will definitely go again and again.....

Thanks for your great review, and also for the feedback on the lack of vegan food. We will endeavour to fix this. The people with the platters were on an organised wine tour and the platters are provided by the tour company. Cheers, Bec.

Great experience!
Dec. 2020 • Couples
This winery is much more than just its great wines. The tasting was excellent, but it was the whole experience that kept us there for hours. We fed the pigs, wandered around the sensory garden eating its delights and made our own charcuterie board for lunch. There is a wide selection of meats, cheeses and other goodies for purchase, along with picnic blankets, baskets etc to enjoy wherever you'd like on the property. The service was absolutely excellent as well. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Memorable Afternoon
Dec. 2020 • Family
Amazing service - so friendly and warm and made us feel at home and comfortable from the very first moment. Went out of their way to ensure the kids were entertained, even went berry picking with them! We loved the ‘help yourself platters’ and the wine was beautiful. Great value for money! We had the most amazing afternoon! Highly recommend!
