Was excited to visit this beach. I arrived to find that it was nothing spectacular. Had a difficult time getting a site to pitch a tent. After two hours of waiting there was a cancellation. We arrived at site 31 which was a beautiful spot right off the beach. What we failed to realize is that we were right in... More

Great beach, short walk to parking. I set my iPhone google maps and I got there without a hitch. Canteen had a pretty good selection, just make sure you have cash, no debit or credit. Washroom, showers were being kept clean by an efficient staff which is pretty hard with all that beautiful white sand being dragged in! Wonderful day,... More

Rissers is simply terrific. A lovely large stretch of white sand beach, lifeguard on duty, super fun COLD surf that provides respite from the blazing hot sun. Love the boardwalk .... you can take it or the short path to get to the beach. Has a concession stand by the dressing rooms serving usual beach fare - low-rent fries, burgers,... More

What more is there to say? THE best beach on Nova Scotia, with the warmest water, lifeguards, a canteen, washrooms, showers, fine sand and good waves usually. There's also very few bugs and a provincial campground where you can camp practically right on the beach.

Beautiful beach, warm water. very nice camp sites. It's quiet at night, unlike some other campgrounds. Clean bathrooms.

We love this beach. The beach is large enough that you have plenty of space to spread out. My kids love it because there is usually less seaweed and the water is warmer. Definately a family favorite.

Beautiful, awesome, spectacular. Great for families, couples or just by yourself. We attended a wedding on the beach here at the end of the wonderful boardwalk. The couple from Comox, BC, travelled to this beach to say their vows. As a child, the bride spent her summer vacations here camping on the ocean and this was such an important part... More

Everything about this entry is correct, except for the country. It's on Highway 331 in Petite Riviere, but not in Mauritius--it's in Nova Scotia, about 40 minutes outside Bridgewater. The beach is yellow sand, very fine, and compacts well for sand-castle enthusiasts. The waters of Green Bay are generally calm, and as is typical in the North Atlantic, not terribly... More

There are not many places where you can set up your tent literally feet from the ocean. In Rissers Beach Provincial Park, my tent was set up maybe 50m from the Atlantic Ocean and all I could hear was the surf. The campsites are a little rocky there but beautiful. A walk through the trees behind the main beach takes... More
