    Exceeded any expectations!
We visited for a few hours, had an amazing breaky, and decided to hang around for a tour and was not disappointed! Keli our guide looked after us so well, answering all the questions we had about the cattle, milking process and farm. Feeding the girls from the tractor was an absolute highlight and something to be experienced! Then it was time to play with the 3 week old calves and watch the herd get milked through the 150 year old turnstile! Kids and adults alike loved it, the dairy food was delicious and Keli really made our girls day. Thank you!

    Great place for kids
We stopped here as a pit stop on the way to Philip island. My toddler had so much fun running around, playing at the playground and seeing all the animals. There are rabbits, chickens, cows, deer and geese. He also loved getting on the Tractors that were on display for the little ones. The Cafe is good for coffee and food. Entry is free.

    Great stop with kids
It is our second visit to the farm cafe, once on our way to Phillip island and once on our way to Wilson’s promontory. Friendly staff, great food and coffee( we had the cheeseburgers and the goat cheese salad, the kids had delicious milkshakes). Coffee was good as well as the lemon slice. The outdoor playground is perfect for kids from 3-9 yo.

Large space for dining, with outdoor options. Good menu, with gluten free options. The gluten free bun with pulled pork was exceptional.

A great set up for a lunch or coffee. We were really impressed with the grounds. The grass area was beautifully maintained. There is a few farm animals your kids can check out and they all look really well looked after with clean pens. There is a play ground and tractors for kids to sit on. The viewing area to the milking shed was great and I'd love to come back to see the cows being milked.
The only let down was the meal. We ordered the beef burger, pulled pork burger and kids fish and chips. All 3 meals came out at different times, my husband had finished by the time my meal arrived. The Burgers were good but the real let down was the chips - they were hard inside and not cooked through. Disappointing for a $28 meal. But the location and set up is great.

Kids were thrilled with the tractor ride and the dairy cows were well taken care of. Our guides (Helen and Mark) took us right into the paddock and did a fantastic job explanation the operations of the farm. Food was great and fresh (except for the chips). I would recommend this place to families with kids, especially those traveling from Melbourne to Philip Island. There is a lovely garden with a playground and baby animals for kids to chill / look at and burn off their energy.

Why haven’t we been before???? Great little place for old and young alike. Staff are friendly. The animals are a bonus. The cafe - delicious food and great coffee. Seeing the milking was great. The blonde lady in the market shop on Sunday 30 Oct is a real gem.

Visited here 5 years ago - enjoyed it!
Went back today full of anticipation but sadly disappointed.
The place has been redeveloped and is little more than a massive noisy barn - polished concrete floor doesn’t help!
The young lady on the till taking orders wasn’t helpful - when asked a question re possible options her retort was ‘ it’s all on the menu’.
Place was full of young mums and screaming noisy kids………tough luck to the rest of the customers.
Will avoid this place next time I’m in Gippsland!

Visited Caldermeade Cafe with my wife, step daughters and their children. Whilst the children enjoyed the animals and playground, the same cannot be said of the food at the cafe. The service was good, with the staff polite and helpful, however as we were outside and a little chilly, the patio heater were not operating, as they were "out of gas" and were told "I've told them they are empty". There were no condiments on the table, and had to find our own sugar for coffee. Knives and Forks only arrive once meals were delivered. My wife had a Brisket Burger, and the meat was just plain dry, I ordered the Pork belly, served with the minimal of sides, and a tough as old boots. Not again Caldermeade farm

Sorry this isn’t a good review. Today we had the pies, had read about the pies and to be honest they were shocking. Watery bits of meat and loads of fat, which I picked out. Just terrible and disappointing. Ordered two Lattes….no coffee in it. Pale milky coloured and no flavour of coffee, there again very very upsetting and we will not be back.
Please sort yourselves out Caldermeade farm cafe…you have a good wee place there but your food and beverages are not worth the money.
